LP Debuts Second Live Video In "The Ukulele Sessions" Series - A Cover of Mars Volta's "The Widow"

Celebrated songwriter, gifted vocalist, and performer extraordinaire LP has posted the second video in her live solo performance series called "The Ukulele Sessions," which feature the L.A.-based artist covering her favorite songs on ukulele and are filmed at various locations in a completely raw setting. The second video is a performance of "The Widow" by TheMars Volta  from their second album, Frances The Mute. Click here to view the clip. "The Widow" will premiere on www.hellogiggles.com today. This haunting performance was filmed in a bat cave in Los Angeles's Griffith Park by director Claire Marie Vogel (Tegan and Sara, The Belle Brigade, etc.).  Vogel has also directed several other live performance pieces for LP, including her Ukulele Sessions  #1.  The next in the ongoing series will be released in the near future.

Fans will recall the first installment of "The Ukulele Sessions" was a cover of "Where Did You Sleep Last Night," also known as "In The Pines," a track by American folk blues pioneer Leadbelly. Click here to view it.

As recently announced, LP will perform a rare one-off club show in New York City on Oct 2nd, at the Mercury Lounge. Like her recent show at Joe's Pub in Manhattan a few months ago, tickets sold-out immediately. There are no other area shows planned at this time.

Having released her debut EP for Warner Bros Records, a CD + DVD package titled Into The Wild: Live At EastWest Studios, in April LP has been attracting fervent attention for her emotionally riveting live performances. She recently appeared at Lollapalooza in Chicago and Summer Sonic in Japan where she drew rave reviews and won the hearts of all who attended:

"LP killed 'em at Bonnaroo. They may have come for the song from the Citi commercial, but they left humming a fresh batch of well-crafted, instantly memorable tunes. Her spot on every ten-to watch-from 2012 list is well-deserved." -- Esquire.Com (Must See List Lollapalooza 2012)

"Those big notes gave her away. After that line, the murmurs start.  LP, the singer crowds have heard but never heard of... she has the instruments and the stage to express it. It's not an anonymous life now."
- CNN.Com

LP will perform at the Austin CityLimits Festival with her Warner Bros. Records label mates Neil Young & Crazy Horse and Gary Clark Jr. on Oct 12th.  ACL 2012 is already sold out.

While LP's debut full-length album for Warner Bros. Records is nearing completion, herInto The Wild: Live At EastWest Studios CD + DVD package continues to garner critical praise. The title track is still going strong at radio:

"With her penetrating voice and Dylan-goes electric swagger, Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter LP may be on the verge of serious mainstream success." - Vogue

"Knocking on stardom's door. She has her own kind of charisma that can deliver a wide audience." - Wall Street Journal
