SONS OF TONATIUH: Atlanta Dirge Merchants To Kick Off Labor Day Takeover

Atlanta dirge merchants, SONS OF TONATIUH, are set to bring their bottom-end to the masses this Labor Day weekend on a short run of dates that will include a stop at theMutants of the Monster II Fest with Rwake, Hull, The Ascent Of Everest, Broken Teeth, Dahkma, Beneath Oblivion, Sound Of the Mountain, Chronic Ritual and many more.

Comments the band: "Can't wait to see our brothers and sisters over at the Mutant Fest in Little Rock this weekend. It will be a rager because there really isn't much else to do in the Republican state."

Later this October, SONS OF TONATIUH will again bring their sludge to the road for a two-plus week excursion across the U.S. with additional shows to be announced soon.Additionally, the band will appear on the Southwest Terror Fest, a two-day auditory assault organized by Arizona sludge terrorists Godhunter. Set to take place on October 19th and 20th, 2012, the debauchery-ridden shenanigans will include over thirty local and nationally-based acts, some on tour and others specific to this event. Visit the official event Facebook page HERE for more info.

SONS OF TONATIUH are touring in support of their Parade Of Sorrow full-length, released through Hydro-Phonic Records earlier this Summer. Skulls N Bones commended the record for having “a heaviness of it’s own,” Exclaim likened the songs to “sinking in quicksand, but they evoke panicked thrashing rather than resigned, churning misery,” while Broken Beard notes that Parade Of Sorrow “is every bit the Eyehategod worship as their self-titled debut, and yet they’ve squeezed this throbbing new pustule so hard there is pus and blood bursting out all over the place.”Parade Of Sorrow was recorded in Athens, Georgia by Kyle Spence of Harvey Milk and features artwork by Chris Parry.
