Funeral Party

"Golden Age Of Nowhere" LP To Be Released January 2011

Check out "Finale"

Funeral Party are thrilled to announce their 2010 US Summer Tour with New Politics. They kick off their in two weeks in Nashville TN, and continue throughout the west coast with a stop in their hometown at LA's Viper Room at the end of July. They will be heading back to the east coast to make their NYC debut, ending up in at the Mercury Lounge on August 18th.

The buzz behind this band in the U.K and U.S. has been set ablaze by their DIY ground breaking performances. The BBC has recently exclaimed that "LA has a new punk disco gang in town", while the MTV "Buzzworthy" describes Funeral Party as "dance punks from a metal neighborhood... lucky for them, it turns out that violent disco is exactly what the East L.A. underground's been waiting for all along." The L.A. Times have also championed Funeral Party over the last few years, and helped launch their career in their buzz bands column. And more recently The NME has hailed, "Not since The Rapture have we got our cowbell fix in such a feet-shifting, hip-swinging blast." Looks like Funeral Party are about the set the world on fire!

The first stunning single, "Finale", will be released to U.S. radio this Fall.

After their U.S. Summer tour, Funeral Party will continue on to conquer more of Europe and the U.K. for a stretch of time. In effect, Golden Age Of Knowhere will now released in January 2011 On RCA Records. THE BIRTHDAY MASSACRE Set to Release New Album

PINS AND NEEDLES Due Out September 14th
Currently on Tour with Otep, Beneath the Sky, and more

Following their critically-acclaimed album Walking with Strangers, THE BIRTHDAY MASSACRE is gearing up for the release of their fourth studio album Pins And Needles on September 14, 2010 via Metropolis Records. Combining their interests in various musical and artistic styles, the Toronto-based synth rock band create a captivating hybrid of 80's electronica and aggressive guitars, curiously fused with cinematically dark melodic progressions. Currently on The Spectacular Massacre Tour alongside Otep, Beneath the Sky, The Agonist and River Runs Red, the band are also gearing up for their own tour this Fall.

On the new album Pins And Needles, The Birthday Massacre further refine the unique sound explored on the band's highly acclaimed previous albums: Walking With Strangers, Violet, and the classic debut Nothing and Nowhere. From the opening notes of the lead off track “In The Dark,” it's apparent that the band has created a work of which they are proud. "I LOVE this song. I love it, I love it, I love it," says vocalist Chibi of the song. "The chorus gets inside my head and plays over and over. I love some of the bitterness of the lyrics here, but to such a pretty melody. To me this song is about how fragile we all are, and how callous some people can be, about how even if you’re with someone and technically you aren’t alone – that can still be one of the loneliest places." Revisiting the infamous, unsolved murder of Elizabeth Short, better known as "The Black Dahlia", the propulsive bright pop of "Shallow Grave" belies its tragic story. "Lyrically this song references the concept of fame being found in death – that sort of romantic tragedy," Chibi continues. "But it’s a caricature, like Elizabeth Short, who wanted to be a famous actress, but only after she was horribly murdered did she achieve any fame. She was only famous because she was a tragedy, and who wants that?" The herky jerky dance rock of "Control" is a song that Chibi is excited to play live. "I love the guitars here and the vocal melody," she says. "I think live this song will be fun to play; it’s got a great tempo and energy. I will admit to having danced in my kitchen to this one."

Mixed by David Ogilvie (producer of Skinny Puppy, Marilyn Manson, Killing Joke), Pins and Needles promises to be a harder and darker experience than all previous albums, contrasted by Chibi's shining melodic vocals. The Birthday Massacre once again lead us down the rabbit hole and invite us to explore the magical wonderland it has created. Pins and Needles will be released on September 14, 2010 on Metropolis Records.

KID SAVANT Announce Tour Dates

Offers FREE Download of New Track "Cher aKido"

New York, NY - Esoteric without being weighty and severely melodic while maintaining complex and challenging song structures, Chicago/Indianpolis electronic/dreampop band, KID SAVANT is bringing its heady intellectual smartpunk to the East Coast this month (tour dates below).

"Between the good music that our parents played us in utero and the sounds that we found on our own in the following 20 years, we know that we've inherited a good lineage of music---and that, in a sense, our tastes in music have been shaped against our will," explains vocalist/keyboardist Ryan Weisberger. "This has created a bit of anxiety in what we play as an 'indie' band fronted by humans, because know that- in some way - we're recreating sounds that have been heard already, whether we know this or not. But, as an equally electronic group, we know that technology can manipulate sound in infinite ways such that no human has literally heard before. It's a bit of contemporary 'anxiety' and and its 'deliverance' that keeps us creating noise."

Armed with an independently released EP, three singles, and a slew of new songs planned for release in the near future, Kid Savant have announced a handful of live dates starting in Philadelphia and circling back to their homebase of Chicago. As a precursor to their tour dates, they're offering up a FREE download of one of their new tracks, "Cher aKido" here: http://tinyurl.com/ks-cherakido, a textural, piano-led rhythmic track with a mesmerizing melody. The song is traced back to "the summer of 2008, well before we called ourselves 'Kid Savant'," recalls William. "We were loud, nomadic Americans passing the summer in Montreal attempting music as friends (and avoiding college internships). We found ourselves at a show for the city's Jazz Festival, where local band aKido put on a show with such verve that equally awed us as it did make us envious. We were also communally infatuated with the lead singer, who was this beautifully tall Quebecois woman with a shaved head. We felt like shit for knowing that we'd never meet her. Angsty, we took a taxi to our rehearsal space and came out with the piano riff and drums to the song." With an ironic twist worthy of Parker Posey film, the band found that "aKido is actually the alias of the group's MALE composer and boyfriend to said girl...all after he definitely heard our lyrics like 'you're an eye and ear affair' and 'I only kiss you in the studio.' Sheer confusion and embarassment, but he loved the song!"

With a powerful and impressive oeuvre that includes the midnight underground club beat of "Ominous Dancefloor", the propulsive atmospherics of "The Other Side of Paradise" and the liltingly charming "Drop It On the Stereo", Kid Savant has received plaudits from Chicago Maroon Newspaper who describes their sound as "bringing house, trance, and electronica music into the popular consciousness and merging the feeling of live trance music with the potency of a hit song" to DailyBeatz who likens them to "a symphony of synthesis in every steam-filled window... the pounding bass of a heart so sick with desire that nausea and anticipation merge into the other and build; building, building, break into a harmony on the better side of paradise."

Kid Savant is Ryan Weisberger (vocals, keyboard), John Sullivan (drums, percussion, programming), Kevin Pariso (guitar, synth) and Andrew Wendahl (bass synthesizer, bass guitar, programming).

Brokencyde Speak Out Against Media For Publishing Slanderous Tabloid Lies

Albuquerque NM crunkcore innovators Brokencyde have released a statement in response to the news media after multiple outlets published a story stating that the group had been arrested.

The story began as a hoax perpetrated by a student in Canada who set up a fake version of the entertainment news website TMZ and claimed Brokencyde had been arrested on charges of child pornography, rape, and drug use. The fake website prompted many credible media outlets to publish the story as news.

"Usually the rumors about Brokencyde are funny and we can just laugh them off, but this time they've completely crossed the line," commented Mikl from Brokencyde. "To have someone accuse us of such horrendous crimes is upsetting to everyone in the band. The members of Brokencyde have families, brothers, sisters, and some of us have children of our own. So to have our names dragged through the mud because people have nothing better to do than create lies and spread rumors is complete bullshit. I don't understand how such high profile publications can lower themselves to be no better than those supermarket tabloid rags and publish a story without a even a fact check! How would those same reporters feel if someone posted a story calling them a child molester or rapist? What would their loved ones think? I find it sad that these publications pu blish lies without any consideration or recourse for the way this affects people and their daily lives. Our goal since the day we started was to make music with our friends and hopefully put a smile on people's faces."

Brokencyde are currently in Hollywood, CA wrapping up the recording of the group’s sophomore album, which is expected to hit stores in late 2010 through BreakSilence Recordings.

The Sword Plot Global Domination With World Tour

Warp Riders Hits Stores August 24th on Kemado Records

The Sword’s legacy in the metal world has been rapidly growing since they formed in 2003. Now on the heels of releasing of “Tres Brujas,” the first single from their forthcoming new album, The Sword have set their sights on their next move – a headlining world tour in support of Warp Riders (August 24th; Kemado Records).

Produced by Matt Bayles (Pearl Jam, Mastodon, Isis), The Sword stretched themselves beyond the pure metal they’re known for by touching on other forms of heavy rock as well. Warp Riders is also the band’s first concept album, and consists of an epic sci-fi narrative loaded with dazzling imagery. Making Monsters with COMBICHRIST

Fifth Album Scheduled for Release September 28th

Atlanta, GA - Metropolis recording artists COMBICHRIST are gearing up for the release of MAKING MONSTERS on September 28, 2010. Recorded in Totprod Studios in Atlanta, GA and produced by Andy LaPlegua (also the mastermind behind the band), their fifth studio album takes the band beyond the aggressive techno and electro rhythms and propels them into much more primal and raw territory. "It's beyond my personal demons, and extremely honest," says LaPlegua.

Kicking off with the ominous and foreboding "Declamation", Making Monsters is a journey deep within the reaches of the mind of LaPlegua, who spent the last year, deep in introspection, as he toured four full months in Europe with Rammstein in front of hundreds of thousands of people. Diving deep into the darkest corners of his mind, he's created an album devoid of pretension and conscious thought. Fueled by expressions of lust, anger, pain and hate, Making Monsters is the sound of LaPlegua ripping out his heart and plugging its still-beating deathkicks into his music, rife with hook-heavy choruses, speaker-crushing beats, and dark aggressive vocals. The first single “Never Surrender” is bound to rule the dance floors along with other floor stompers “They” and “Throat Full of Glass”. The baretoothed aggression of “Follow the Trail of Blood” (featuring Brendan Schiepatti of Bleeding Through) will immediately become a crowd favorite while the brooding “Through These Eyes of Pain” takes a much subtler approach and shows us another side of Combichrist, that of the man inside the monster.

MAKING MONSTERS
Track Listing:

1. Declamation
2. Follow The Trail Of Blood
3. Never Surrender
4. Throat Full of Glass
5. Forgotten
6. Fuck Machine
7. Just Like Me
8. Slave To Machine
9. Through These Eyes Of Pain
10. Monster: Murder: Kill
11. They
12. Reclamation

Starting off in the dark metal and hardcore soul of Norway, Andy LaPlegua led a few seminal bands in the Norwegian underground (including the influential Icon of Coil) before fusing electronics and dance beats and forming Combichrist in 2003 and releasing their incredibly well-respected debut The Joy of Gunz (2003). The two following albums - Everybody Hates You and What The F*&$ Is Wrong With You People? - witnessed the band's evolution and were described as "a journey through hell and high water, through the eyes of a serial killer, sex, violence and plenty of Jack Daniels on ice."

Their acclaimed last album Today We Are All Demons witnessed Combichrist expanding their audience and infiltrating the mainstream. Their first single from that album "Sent to Destroy" and its EP debuted on Billboard's Top Singles Chart at #8 and the Dance Chart at #5 and remained there for over ten weeks. "Never Surrender," the new single from Making Monsters, will undoubtedly have a similar breakthrough story.

MAKING MONSTERS album art

With a tour being planned for the Fall 2010, Combichrist's much lauded and respected live shows are, as Crypt Magazine describes, "known for tons of energy, blood, and a rock n' roll attitude." BlogCritics also warns it's "not for the faint of heart - you wouldn't bring your grandmother to this show."

Making Monsters will be released via Metropolis Records physically on September 28, 2010 (digital release is slated for August 31, 2010). A national tour will be announced shortly.

KING KHAN AND THE SHRINES TO EMBARK ON NORTH AMERICAN TOUR

SOUL-PSYCHEDELIC-GARAGE LEGENDS TO TEACH MIDWEST AND NORTHEAST TO DANCE IN TWO WEEKS OR LESS

King Khan, master of his domain, as well as any and all domains related to the cross-section of ear bending psychedelia, scorched rubber garage, and love potion dripping soul, is poised for another assault on American shores this October. Following this past Spring's celebrated "Comeback Tour", which culminated in a fire hazardous performance at Coachella, the master performer detected that the corners of the US left untouched by the former outing were in dire need of a dose of his mystical medicine. Now would be a good time to start polishing your dancing shoes.

Blood Into Wine arrives on DVD on Sept. 7 as well. The award-winning documentary focuses on Keenan and vineyard partner Eric Glomski’s struggle to create a high-quality wine region in the harsh terrain of Northern Arizona. Filmcritic.com dubbed the film a “rock ‘n roll version of Sideways,” the Wall Street Journal said “as Blood into Wine makes clear… Keenan isn't a musical celebrity who lent his name to a product. He gets down into the soil to plant and destem vines and pick grapes. He's learned oenology with painstaking deliberation” and the Village Voice said the film is “one of the most intriguing documentaries we’ve seen in a while.” The film co-stars Milla Jovovich, Patton Oswalt, Bob Odenkirk, Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim.

RECOIL

NEW TOUR DATES ANNOUNCED FOR FALL 2010
‘A STRANGE HOUR’ COMES TO NORTH & SOUTH AMERICA
iPHONE APP NOW AVAILABLE

After successful performances across Europe and the US, Alan Wilder, formerly of Depeche Mode and now recording as Recoil, will bring ‘A Strange Hour’ to select cities across the US, Canada, and South America. Alan & Paul Kendall are working on an updated set for the tour, so stay tuned to www.selected.recoil.co.uk for further news.

For fans to get the most up-to-date news and info, a new Recoil iPhone App is now available. The Recoil app allows you to follow Alan’s activities and fans’ thoughts & musings while Recoil is on the road or in the studio. As a hub for Recoil’s social networking, there is also access to photos, videos, audio and Alan’s concepts behind each of his albums. The app is free and available now from the iTunes store HERE.

Recoil Selected, a brand new selection of classic Recoil tracks, is out now. Alan Wilder, who chose the track listing, explains, "The collection is made up of my personal favorites, remastered and edited together into what I consider a cohesive and total listening experience.” The album features a varied selection of vocalists including Diamanda Galás, Joe Richardson, Douglas McCarthy (Nitzer Ebb), Nicole Blackman, Samantha Coerbell, Toni Halliday (Curve) and Maggie Estep. Recoil Selected is available to download and as 1CD and 2CD editions. Limited edition deluxe 4-disc box set and a vinyl edition have both now sold out.

During his 14 years as a member of Depeche Mode, as well as being an accomplished solo musician, Alan really honed his skills in the studio. With his attention to detail, Wilder pushed the boundaries even within the restrictive climate of commercial pop. As an antidote to the demands of the Mode, his studio project Recoil was born in the mid-eighties. Two albums were released: ‘Hydrology’ (1988) and ‘Bloodline’ (1990) both giving an indication of his expanding horizons. After his departure from Depeche Mode in 1995, Wilder resurrected Recoil full-time and has since released ‘Unsound Methods’ (1997), ‘Liquid’ (2000) and ‘subHuman’ (2007).

HEARTSREVOLUTION

PARTNERS WITH SWAROVSKI TO BUILD THE FIRST CRYSTALLIZED TOURING ICE CREAM TRUCK!
UPDATES ON DEBUT FULL LENGTH AND NEW WEBSITE LAUNCH

Heartsrevolution, the digital-punk duo from NYC, have partnered with the sparkling couture staple Swarovski Elements to completely bedazzle their infamous Heartschallenger ice-cream truck to make it the world's first and only completely crystallized touring vehicle. The trucks operate as a nexus of their self-empowered infrastructure by selling treats outside of shows and music festivals. The duo is determined to continue with their DIY approach while inspiring the 21st century generation to think outside of the box.

The band has launched a new website at www.heartsrevolution.com where you can follow them on their journey of making the album and creating music videos for each track or download the Heartschallenger theme song as a ringtone. In addition, they have created an online widget where users invited to join the Heartschallenger Army. Through this widget, fans can upload a photo to create their own Heartschallenger ID card with the trademark Heartschallenger ski mask.

Born of a punk ethos the band has self released records and self funded tours all via the Heartschallenger ice-cream trucks. Heartsrevolution's breakout EP, Switchblade, boasted their own unique brand of electronic neo-punk dance music and included the anthemic "C.Y.O.A. (Choose Your Own Adventure)", the acronym serving as the mantra that has shaped their career-arc thus far. The group formed in 2005 when Lo asked Ben to compose a soundtrack for the first Heartschallenger. After the release of the Switchblade EP, the group rode a wave of early critical acclaim.

After much work, touring and time in the studio, Heartsrevolution plan to release their debut full length album, Ride or Die, this fall!

VELVET CODE Relocates To London

UK Debut Performance Set for 28 July at Forty Watt Club

New York, NY - When Marlon Wurmitzer, the mastermind behind the critically-acclaimed electronic-synth pop band Velvet Code, packed up his apartment in New York City and decided to jump over the pond to London, England, he didn't think his move to the UK would have been as creatively stimulating as it has been. Just a few months into his new transatlantic residency, Marlon has already put together his new band and even scheduled his debut performance for 28 July at The Forty Watt Club (150 Brick Lane, London). Tickets for the show can be ordered in advance here: http://tinyurl.com/vcode-tix.

Velvet Code's debut release Black.Blue.Blind. was met with critical acclaim and garnered great supporting slots for bands like Mindless Self Indulgence and Nitzer Ebb, among many others. UK's Sphere Magazine opines, "There are not many bands nowadays that can balance rock hard instrumentation with uplifting electro-pop melodies and a punk attitude like Velvet Code." Alternavox chimes in "Velvet Code is more than just a band, it’s a feeling, an energy wrapped up in an electro synth-rock candy wrapper. A perfect blend of retro beats with the relevance of today and the tenacity of tomorrow."

Winner of the "Dance/Electronica - Song" at The 8th Annual Independent Music Awards for the song "Say You Love Me", Velvet Code started out in NYC in 2005 when Marlon moved out of his native Toronto and decided to start a band. Working with legendary producer Mark Saunders (Shiny Toy Guns, Erasure, The Cure), they crafted the synth-infused pop album Black.Blue.Blind. "Mark is the 'golden ears' and 'king' of mixing synth music," says Marlon of the experience. "I couldn’t have chosen a better producer to work with on this album." Fueled by a great understanding of pop melodicism and a well-tuned ear for electronic pyrotechnics, is packed with tracks like the bombastic opener, "Say You Love Me", the immediately infectious "I'll Follow You", and atmospheric and shimmery ballad "I Never Want to Feel." As Marlon explains of the sound of his music, "Think Pink who wants to look like Lady GaGa but wants to dance with Freddie Mercury and run with The Killers."

Velvet Code is currently working on new music with Swedish hitmaker Peter Boström (A-teens, DaBuzz, Alcazar).

SCISSOR SISTERS

WILL KICK OFF NORTH AMERICAN TOUR ON AUGUST 21st

Sammy Jo, Scissor Sisters' Tour DJ, Will Open;
Tickets Go On Sale This Weekend

Night Work, The Band's New Album,
Rockets To #1 On iTunes' Top Pop Albums Chart Upon Release

Scissor Sisters will launch an extensive North American tour in support of their latest album, Night Work, which was hailed as "dirty fun" by The New York Times and included on Spin.com's list of "25 Summer Albums That Matter Most." Upon its release last week, Night Work rocketed to the top of iTunes' Top Pop Albums chart and into the Top 10 of iTunes' Top Albums chart.

The tour will commence on August 21st at Atlanta's Buckhead Theatre and include a show at Terminal 5 (August 24th) in the band's hometown of New York City and a night at Los Angeles' historic Hollywood Palladium (September 11th). The jaunt will conclude on September 16th in Vancouver, BC at the Malkin Bowl in Stanley Park. Scissor Sisters are once again bringing along renowned DJ Sammy Jo to kick off the festivities. Tickets will go on sale beginning this Friday, July 9th; see below for details. To purchase tickets, please visit www.scissorsisters.com.

Scissor Sisters are in the midst of a worldwide tour, which has included stops at the Glastonbury Festival, where they were joined by special guest Kylie Minogue, and the iTunes Festival in London. The band will play festivals in Europe, Australia and Japan prior to kicking off the tour's North American leg. Scissor Sisters will also play a series of U.K. dates in December. See below for North American and U.K. itineraries.

"As anyone who's seen it will attest, their live act is a ride," said London's Sunday Times, which praised Night Work as "a naughty new album that's a tour de force." "This is the album that really symbolizes what they sound like live," friend and collaborator Elton John recently told The New York Times while Filter called it "a dance album filled to the brim that could make even a corpse twitch"

"'Night Work' makes no apologies...this here is the year's most striking reinvention," observed NME while Rolling Stone said: "Three albums in, the Sisters are as gleefully hedonistic as ever." "New York's disco-new wave party people are in freak mode on their third disc Night Work, dropping crass come-ons and slutty entendres like parade confetti (gay, straight, you name it)," said Entertainment Weekly, which gave the record an A-.Q awarded the album four stars in a two-page lead review, observing: "they translate anxiety into dancefloor electricity."

"It is, in a word - stunning,"said accesshollywood.comof lead single, "Fire With Fire," while the New York Post said the song "channels the band's inner disco ball with amped-up bass lines and a hedonistic spirit." Philip Andelman (Lenny Kravitz, Beyoncé, John Mayer) lensed the accompanying video.

With over seven million albums sold worldwide, Scissor Sisters have been described as "one of the most improbable and endearing success stories of recent years" by Rolling Stone. The band - comprising Jake Shears, Ana Matronic (vocals), Babydaddy (guitar/bass/keyboards) and Del Marquis (guitar) - released its self-titled debut album in 2004. It became the best-selling album in the UK that year and earned the band three BRIT awards in 2005. Stateside, Scissor Sisters performed on "Saturday Night Live" and enjoyed success at pop radio with "Take Your Mama," which was licensed by numerous TV shows. Ta-Dah, released in 2006, debuted at No. 1 on the UK album chart while lead track "I Don't Feel Like Dancin'" simultaneously topped the UK singles chart.

NEW CUT COPY ALBUM COMING JANUARY 2011
IN GHOST COLOURS IS OUT NOW ON MODULAR RECORDINGS

At a time where the marriage between dance and rock is neighboring inevitable, Cut Copy walk the line as pioneers of the new sound movement. Their 2008 sophomore set, In Ghost Colours, delivered both timelessness and forward thinking, haunted with machines of the past and sounds of the future. It was embraced by both audiences and critics worldwide, landing at the #1 position in their native Australia, receiving almost unanimous global praise and a spot on many key “Best Albums of the Decade” roundups. The key songs off that record, including “Hearts On Fire,” “Lights and Music,” and “Feel The Love” were ubiquitous on the internet and as the soundtrack to the modern urban experience, and still are topping charts two years after its release.

In addition, the band sold out an endless string of shows across the globe, with their biggest markets constantly changing as the year went on. From Melbourne to Mexico City to Lisbon to Jakarta, they played to thousands of excited fans a night, bringing an irresistible multimedia party wherever they went.

The band are currently ensconced in their Melbourne studio working on the follow-up to In Ghost Colours, which should be wrapped shortly. Never ones content to stand still, it is as much a progression of sound as “In Ghost Colours” was from their debut “Bright Like Neon Love.” They will be doing key festivals across the globe this summer, and can’t wait to share their new music and old favorites with their fans.
