NEW CASSETTES released their long awaited sophomore album Winterhead this week on N13 Records in partnership with MTV and the good folks at Spinner are currently hosting a LISTENING PARTY for the album. You can stream Winterhead in full here and then head over to iTunes to grab a copy.

Suyeon Kim at MTV Iggy lauds, “This quintet has an instinct for combining clever dance rock and precocious balladry into a potent pop mix.”  PopMatters praises, “Winterhead is user-friendly, hook-driven guitar rock” and The Owl Mag calls it “Post-punk at its best… a stunner for your ears to find their way through.”  Winterhead was mixed by with Grammy Award-winning songwriter and producer Adam Schlesinger of Fountains of Wayne and sound engineer Geoff Sanoff (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, School of Seven Bells).

New Cassettes also wrote the theme song for MTV show “Savage U,” which premiered last night. The track is included on Winterhead but you can download it for FREE today at the MTV SOUNDTRACK blog.

While in Austin for SXSW, New Cassettes recorded live sessions with Yahoo! Music, MTV's "Ahead Of The Curve," Dickies for Filter Magazine and Look Sessions.  The quintet are on tour with We Were Promised Jetpacks through next week and have been stopping out countless radio stations as well as JBTV, Last FM and a number of morning shows.  New Cassettes will be on the road in the U.S. through the summer.
