North American dubstep stars Zeds Dead have been announced as the final headlining act for the 2012 Movement Electronic Music Festival in Detroit, performing on the Red Bull Music Academy Stage on Sunday May 27th.  The chart-topping duo are frequent collaborators of Grammy-winning dubstep artist Skrillex, and are hotly tipped to become the next superstars of the genre that has become the hottest sound in dance music. One that is being played on pop radio, featured in national advertising campaigns, and selling out concerts and festivals across the country and the world.

Movement producers Paxahau also announced the complete schedule for this year's Memorial Day Weekend event, giving the expected 100,000 attendees plenty of time to plan which of the 107 dance music stars, performing across five stages, to catch during the annual techno celebration.

The schedule and other important Movement information will also be made easily accessible on both iPhones and Android smartphones in the coming weeks. Paxahau, with the support of Vitaminwater, is developing a free “smartphone app” with new features and functions that will make it easy to navigate the festival grounds as attendees move from stage to stage to see their favorite artists.

“The festival lineup this year is a dynamic mix of legendary performers, Detroit icons and electronic dance music’s rising stars,” said Jason Huvaere, president of Paxahau.  “We’re excited to be able to offer Movement Festival-goers 107 acts over three days across five stages.  No other festival can offer the authenticity of an underground party as well as the city that founded Techno and helped to put electronic dance music on the map.”

Zeds Dead (a name derived from the pair's actual names, Zack and Dylan, and a quote from Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction) is at the forefront of a new dance music sound that combines elements of rock, hip-hop and techno, all with the unmistakable wobbly bass sound of dubstep. In addition to accolades from Skrillex, who has said, "The Zeds Dead boys are the kind of artists who are willing to explore all sorts of genres in bass music and do them all really well. Not to mention they are the best of dogs!" fellow superstar Bassnectar has called their sounds one “I CRAVE!” And BBC Radio 1 DJ Kissy Sell Out has said "Zeds Dead is the future of genres...flipping genius."

Since the March 14 announcement of the lineups second phase for the annual Memorial Day Weekend festival, Paxahau has also added Clark Warner, Matthew Hawtin, and Keef Boxx to the lineup; and learned that Mr. Oizo will not be able perform at the festival, which was announced through the festival’s Facebook page several weeks ago.
