COACHELLA MEDIA: AVICII AND NERO AT COACHELLA THIS MONTH

APRIL 13 - 15 & 20 - 22 ~ INDIO, CALIFORNIA

On April 13-15 and 20-22, Coachella Music and Arts Festival will take place in Indio, CaliforniaGrammy nominated DJ Avicii will be headlining both weekends, with Neroalso performing. Be sure to catch both of these incredible and inventive artists, as they join the best musicians from around the world for two amazing weekends of sound in laidback, sunny California. More information on each artist can be found below.

Born Tim Bergling in Stockholm, Grammy nominated Avicii has already conquered club charts worldwide with his current single “Le7els.” Released by LE7ELS Records/Atom Empire/Interscope, the radio edit is now available now at all digital partners.  “Le7els” has been declared the “Tune of 2011” by David Guetta in DJ Mag, which also placed the 22-year-old Swede at No. 6 on its yearly poll of the Top 100 DJs after just two years of performing. Part of the next generation of electronic music producers to explode alongside the likes of Tiësto, Swedish House Mafia, and his sometime collaborator Guetta (on Guetta’s current album Nothing But The Beat), Avicii has emerged as a potent force on the electronic dance music scene, penetrating on both a club and commercial level. “Le7els” climbed to No. 1 on the International Beatport chart, as well as on the club charts in Australia and several European markets inlcluding Germany, Sweden, and Norway, among others. The success of prior singles “Seek Bromance,” “Street Dancer” and “Fade Into Darkness” have also propelled him into the ranks of superstar DJs who are able to perform to massive crowds.

Nero's live performance sees the #1 UK duo Dan Stephens and Joe Ray performing along with singer Alana Watson. While the pair have been DJing in the US for a few years now, back in December they premiered their full on live show for a series of sold-out dates including LA's Music Box and NYC's Webster Hall. One of the things that makes them standout in such a male dominated genre is Alana, their singer, who appears on all of their singles. She is a true star and the fans go crazy when she takes the stage. She helps gives Nero a ‘band’ feel, a bit like Massive Attack. It is a visual led performance which sees them performing from a custom built booth consisting of ghetto blasters, retro TVs, old amps and an arcade machine centre piece. Best said in Alternative Press Magazine's "100 Bands You Need to Know" issue, "While the purists bemoan dubstep's success, Nero put electronic music back in the spotlight luring in a new generation of fans." Nero's live show will make you rethink everything you thought you knew about dubstep. The London duo are touring in support of their debut album Welcome Reality, which is out now on Cherrytree/Interscope Records. Stay tuned for their new single "Promises" out April 20 on Cherrytree/Interscope Records, which features remixes from both Skrillex and Calvin Harris

Released in the U.K. in August, Welcome Reality debuted at No. 1 and rapidly earned Gold status, fueled by its singles “Innocence,” "Guilt,” “Promises” (which also stormed straight to the top of the UK charts) and “Me and You,” which was the most played record on Radio 1 for three weeks in a row and is now the first U.S. single from the album. Nero’sindie/dubstep hybrid smash Me and You Remix EP is also currently available digitally, and features a brand-new remix of “Me And You” by Steve Angello of Swedish House Mafia, and a Skrillex remix of "Promises" (previously unavailable in the U.S.) that has racked up more than 10 million plays on YouTube.

With [singer Alana] Watson, Nero comes off like a dubstep-powered pop band - and with Welcome Reality, the act’s very polished debut, it’s a hit away from broader fame.”
- Billboard

“Blistering beats and serious electro-pop sparkle.”
- Entertainment Weekly

“Welcome Reality” will inevitably soundtrack thousands of blowouts. ...Nero understand how to make things burn."
- The Los Angeles Times

"Glorious, splinter-thin moments when a sound is both free to do whatever it wants and still functioning as a new power source.”
- The New Yorker
