The Providence, RI duo of David Lamb and MorganEve Swain -- better known now as Brown Bird -- are finally seeing the arrival of their new album Salt for Salt on October 18th, 2011 from Supply & Demand Music
(home to Dark Dark Dark, Vandaveer, etc). With praise already coming from the likes of NPR, Paste, Under the Radar, the Boston Globe, and more, the duo has released a new video that continues to up the ante. The new video, filmed at Blout Boats, the shipyard where Lamb used to work and where many of Brown Bird's songs were conceived, hit Paste for the album track and live favorite "Bilgewater."
Brown Bird recently landed the coveted supporting slot for the upcoming, coast-to-coast tour with The Devil Makes Three
as well, kicking off November 2nd in Columbus, OH, and wrapping up
December 10th in Portland, ME. The duo will also be doing a handful of
live dates in October as well, before hitting the road with The Devil
Makes Three. For Salt for Salt
itself, it is best listened to in a room made of wood, where the warm
layers of guitar, banjo, violin, double bass, cello, and bass drum
(wooden rim) would hang as thick as they were meant to be. The album
artwork (below) was illustrated by Will Schaff (Okkervil River, Godspeed! You Black Emperor, Songs:Ohia). The album is now available for pre-order. Full tour dates below.***
