Carter Tanton (Tulsa/Lower Dens) Releases Psychedelic New Video For "Horrorscope"
Coast to Coast Tour with The War on Drugs Underway
"'Freeclouds' is an
indie gem that reminds us of cross-country roadtrips, early mornings,
and basically the best things about fall (and his dreamy voice isn't too
bad, either)." - NYLON

Carter Tanton has debuted a new video for the single "Horrorscope" taken from his forthcoming full-length, Freeclouds, with Western Vinyl. The album features a collaboration with Marissa Nadler and is the first release since his celebrated 2007 I Was Submerged EP as Tulsa. Prominently featured twice on NPR last week, he was awarded with the #1 spot on The World Cafe "Next 20" that highlights the brightest up-and-coming artists. Tanton will support Freeclouds on the road this fall, kicking off a full band national tour with The War on Drugs, and has also become the newest member of Baltimore group Lower Dens.
Directed by JHNYSTVNS, the video for "Horrorscope" collages together film negatives, found imagery, and kaleidoscopic light. The track was produced by Brian Deck famous for his production work on Iron & Wine, Modest Mouse and Califone albums. MTVHive said, "'Horrorscope'...is among the more darker moments on Freeclouds, reflecting a likely common feeling among musicians: returning home from the road with a sense of isolation because all your friends are working 9 to 5s." Rolling Stone once noted Tanton's "indie-seraphim voice is not of this world," so be sure not to miss it live in concert this fall.
