Substream Magazine Tour Kicks Off October 14th

Baltimore, MD - October 11, 2011 - The Baltimore-based pop-tinged alternative rock quartet, Car Party, has just released their highly anticipated sophomore EP "High & Low Places." The band was honored to have their record produced and engineered by the famed Ace Enders (The Early November). Look out for Car Party's new music video for their heart-pumping single "Please Me" which will be released in the coming weeks.

With so much buzz surrounding Car Party, it's no wonder they have been added to the Substream Magazine Tour which includes dates in the U.S. & Canada from October 14th - October 29, 2011 (tour listed below). Along with the tour placement, the band is thrilled to have recently received an endorsement deal with Orange Amplifiers.

Listening to Car Party you would never believe the band formed as recently as late 2009. And through a CraigsList ad posted by drummer, Taylor Hughes, for that matter! Joining Taylor is vocalist Michael Matzke, guitarist Jim Luparello and bassist Chris Martin. Car Party quickly began to impress their local scene and self released an EP in late 2010 titled Excuses. The album garnered much attention for obvious reasons. With the hit single, "Love Online", Car Party was quickly excelling and crafting their already impressive sound. Fans have fallen in love with Car Party's energetic, powerful, and passionate music reminiscent of Third Eye Blind, Death Cab For Cutie and Jimmy Eat World.

The band recorded the EP in Hammonton, NJ at The Living Room Recording Studio located above an antique shop "that I'm pretty sure is haunted," says Hughes.  "If it weren't for a playstation and Tony Hawk Pro Skater in the lounge area I would not have left the control room." She continues to say, "Ace built every song from the bottom up, the first day was just vocals and an acoustic guitar. He took such great care to preserve what we wanted our music to be all while being honest and helpful. Having Ace as an idol musically we felt that his work ethic and song creativity would make our newly written songs come to life by adding his critique and spin on everything," says Hughes.
