Invisible Children & The Voice Project announce Edward Sharpe, Frightened Rabbit, Joseph Arthur, Nicole Atkins and more as the first round of artists to join The Musician Coalition

Invisible Children and The Voice Project announce EDWARD SHARPE & THE MAGNETIC ZEROS, FRIGHTENED RABBIT, JOSEPH ARTHUR, NICOLE ATKINS and more as the first round of artists to join The Musician Coalition
The Musician Coalition unites artists from all genres with their fans to help improve communication in some of the world’s most remote regions through FM radio broadcasts. Watch the video HERE.
San Diego media-based nonprofit, Invisible Children, is teaming up with New York and Los Angeles’ The Voice Project in an effort to amplify peace in Central Africa and help end the region’s longest running war through music and radio.
The dual-coast collaboration introduces The Musician Coalition - a dedicated group of artists uniting with their fans to raise $100,000 for a life saving radio network in Central Africa.
From folk-indie greats Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, to dance-pop favorites Cobra Starship, musicians from all genres set up individual fundraising goals through an interactive website and work with fans to achieve them.
Money raised through The Musician Coalition will support an Early Warning Radio Network which links remote Central African communities through radio broadcasts. These broadcasts encourage child soldiers forced to fight in rebel leader Joseph Kony’s force, the Lord’s Resistance Army, to return home.
Look for Invisible Children on tour with Thrice, Circa Survive and All Time Low where there will be secret acoustic “Thank You” performances after select dates on the tours.
Invisible Children will also be present at NYC’s CMJ Music Marathon, San Francisco’s Treasure Island Music Festival and Austin’s Fun Fun Fun Fest.
