Norwegian-based group Casiokids have debuted their new single "Golden Years" taken from their full-length release, Aabenbaringen over aaskammen, out on October 11 via Polyvinyl. Aabenbaringen over aaskammen ("The Revelation over the mountain") is the follow up to their critically acclaimed US singles collection Topp stemning på lokal bar ("Great vibe at local bar"), and is now streaming in it's entirety at Consequence of Sound, Paste, Under The Radar, and It's A Trap. Their first single "Det Haster" has been featured on Pitchfork and RCRD LBL among others, and the forthcoming album features a collaboration with labelmates of Montreal and will be released on CD/MP3/LP (Limited Edition of 500 copies 180 Gram Blue Vinyl). After playing sold out shows across the U.S. with labelmates Starfucker this past Spring, Casiokids will return to the states this month for Northeast performances and several sets at this year's CMJ Music Marathon

Over the last year Casiokids have left audiences around the world mesmerized. The group was hand-picked by fellow Norwegians a-ha as a potential recipient of one of four talent grants the band was offering, and won the coveted prize through a popular vote, affording them the opportunity to open for them on the group's farewell tour last fall -- a trek they promptly followed-up with a one-week North American tour sandwiched between festival appearances in England, Poland and Australia. Casiokids were also nominated for a Spellemann Award (the Norwegian equivalent of a Grammy). Incorporating a blend of shadow puppets, video projections and animal costumes into their live show AOL Spinner noted, "it's no wonder concert-goers can't stop raving about this high energy Norwegian export."
