Chris Bathgate Debuts New Video for "Big Ghost" + 3D Version - Continues On 22-Date Fall National Tour

"This isn't just folk music -- this is Middle American Gothic." - All Music Guide
"If Bathgate has mastered one thing in his young and enormously promising career, it's the art of distilling alienation into bruised-sounding beauty." - NPR  "The sheer musical and lyrical power of this entire album got under my skin and seeped into my veins becoming a part of my human fiber." - No Depression  Watch the video for "Big Ghost" at YouTube and the special 3D version here
Michigan-based singer-songwriter Chris Bathgate has debuted a new video for single "Big Ghost" in an original and amazing 3D format by Giant Eel Productions. Following a year of touring, several hometown festival appearances, a NPR Tiny Desk Concert, and a recent performance at CMJ '11, he continues to support his acclaimed full length release, Salt Year on the road with Americana artist Adam Aracuagi. Bathgate is also putting the finishing touches on his latest and greenest output, an EP entitled Old Factory with a bar of soap and download code acting as the physical product.

Bathgate has received national acclaim since being signed to Quite Scientific Records (Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr., Cotton Jones) in 2007, following years of self-releasing his own albums. Salt Year was featured in NPR Listeners Poll as "Best Of The Year (So Far)" while My Old Kentuky Blog proclaimed it as "without a doubt, the first great folk record of 2011." Originating from a period of personal tumult in his life Salt Year was the most difficult album he has made to date and the singer explains why in an interview and live performance at NPR's World Cafe Session.
