FEATURING THE UNRELEASED SINGLE “TALKBOX INTENDED”
(cleared for posting)
Fresh off last year’s fall tour in Europe, and having spent his summer in the states playing at festivals including Electric Zoo, Northcoast Music Festival and the Big Up in addition to a very celebrated performance in front of 10,000 people with Pretty Lights in the lush mountains of Red Rocks, Gramatik embarked on his first nationwide tour this fall, with new dates taking the tour into winter along the west coast and Texas.
The Pretty Lights Music Tour is the first time since launching the label that Derek Vincent Smith aka Pretty Lights has sent his labelmates out on a PLM tour featuring a full bill of PLM artists. Gramatik will be joined by Michal Menert who co-headline dates across North America switching off closing slots nightly. They will be joined by SuperVision along the musical trek. The first run of the tour kicked off at Boston's Paradise Theatre on November 2nd, and made stops in New York City, Atlanta, Colorado, Philadelphia, Nashville, St. Louis and many others. The west coast leg has Gramatik and co. stopping by Denver, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, and Dallas, with many others in between. |

Live, Gramatik carts an APC 40 on stage, a kind of live
performance controller akin to a conductor’s baton—if the baton were
hooked up to every instrument in the orchestra. The music is
complemented by live instrumentation supplied by Alex, a friend who made
the trip with him from Slovenia, where Gramatik is originally from. Following this September's Electric Zoo performance MTV Iggy and others such as Flavorpill highlighted his set, and named Gramatik as "One of the 5 new acts to watch" saying "His Sunday set was full of that good old bass-heavy mid-morning dubstep".

"Gramatik retains a nonchalance in his music – call
it a laid back, down to earth spirit that creates a mellow atmosphere
for the beats to orbit around. Oftentimes Gramatik’s cool hip-hop vibe
is lined with little perfect little pockets of jazz’s music legacy,
including funk, soul and rock n’ roll. Chilled out trip-hop that flirts
with all elements of music, from rhythm and blues to jazz, Gramatik
stays true to a soulful hip-hop teasing you with playful guitar work and
good-time instrumental loops.”

NEW PRETTY LIGHTS MUSIC TOUR DATES FEATURING GRAMATIK, MICHAL MENERT, AND SUPERVISION
|
This summer Gramatik released his banging, soulful, and just plain hot new beat collection, Beatz & Pieces Vol. 1, as
a free download on Pretty Lights Music. Beatz & Pieces Vol. 1 is a
collection of beats that are hip-hop at the core, but go far beyond
that in the realm of technique, style, and creativity. The tracks are
raw, sample based beats, with a technical sophistication and an evolved
stylistic twist that question the idea of what a hip-hop beat is and
should be. Gramatik's knack for finding and chopping samples brings the
soul to the table, and then he injects them with a massive dose of
flavor that lands the tracks anywhere between ultra-hype banger and
contemplative head-nodder. Either way, Beatz & Pieces Vol. 1 pushes
the envelope of hip-hop production, and is an epic start to what is
proving to be a perfect match between Gramatik and PLM.
Gramatik is an extremely versatile producer, and even though he
dabbles in genres from dubstep to electro, he describes his album
releases as 'pure hip hip…on steroids'. His previous albums saw sales
of over 80,000 tracks online, but right now, Beatz & Pieces Vol. 1
is available on Pretty Lights Music at no cost. In the past 2 years,
topping all kinds of genre charts, Gramatik has matured from a curious
kid attracted by soundscapes, to a world-class producer. Gramatik's
music quickly gained steam after he first began posting it online in
2008 and earned him nominations for ‘’Best Chill Out Artist’’ and ‘’Best Chill Out Track’’ at the 2010 Beatport Music Awards and taking 2nd place in both categories.
