The Wombats Give Away Plastic Plates Remix Of "Our Perfect Disease" * US Tour Coming This Fall

THE WOMBATS GIVE AWAY PLASTIC PLATES REMIX
OF HIT-SINGLE "OUR PERFECT DISEASE"
RETURN TO U.S. THIS FALL FOR LONG-AWAITED NATIONWIDE TOUR IN SUPPORT OF ACCLAIMED NEW ALBUM THIS MODERN GLITCH

In anticipation of their upcoming U.S. tour, Liverpool's The Wombats are giving away a Plastic Plates remix of their hit song "Our Perfect Disease." Check it out here & feel free to embed and post: http://soundcloud.com/brightantenna/the-wombats-our-perfect/s-7IeOf

The Wombats will return to the U.S. this fall for a long-awaited nationwide tour in support of their hugely successful album The Wombats proudly present ... This Modern Glitch (Bright Antenna/ILG). The dates come on the heels of a sold out world tour that included a brief stop in New York and California in May. Kicking off October 19 at New York City's Webster Hall, the 18-stop run will take the band across the country with stops in Philadelphia, Atlanta, New Orleans, Austin, Chicago, Portland and more. Further details are below.

The Wombats' sophomore album This Modern Glitch is the most successful release from the Liverpool trio to date, debuting at #3 in the U.K. and #2 in Australia, and receiving worldwide praise. Entertainment Weekly applauds their "bright, buzzy indie pop concoctions that have made audiences on both sides of the Atlantic shake and swoon," while SPIN declares them "Echo & The Bunnymen for the internet age." Similarly, The Sunday Times proclaims This Modern Glitch "a ten-song masterclass in spiky, lyrically-vivid, synth-coloured pop...nothing can detract (or distract) from this album's infectiousness." The band also made their U.S. television debut earlier this year on Jimmy Kimmel Live! performing their Top 20 UK single, "Tokyo (Vampires and Wolves)." The track was a BBC Radio 1 "Single of the Week"and has already gone gold in the U.K. and Australia. You can check out the witty, tongue-in-cheek, "rock stars on a rampage" video for it right now on YouTube HERE, now at over 2.3 million plays.

The Wombats will present their next single, "Techno Fan," to U.S. fans this Fall, just in time for tour. The song has already received buzz following a Diplo remix that hit the internet earlier this month. You can hear that remix at Entertainment Weekly, and the official music video is on YouTube HERE.

Recorded at NRG Recording Studios in Los Angeles, This Modern Glitch was produced by Rich Costey (Muse, Franz Ferdinand, Bloc Party) and Eric Valentine (Queens of the Stone Age, Lostprophets), with additional production prowess contributed by super-producers Jacknife Lee (U2, Snow Patrol, R.E.M.) and Butch Walker (Fall Out Boy, The Donnas, Weezer). The 10-song set retains the immediacy and hook-filled sensibility of their stunning UK platinum-selling debut, 2007's The Wombats proudly present ... Guide To Love, Loss And Desperation, while introducing aggressive dance elements and a heavier, wryer lyrical side to their infectious alt-pop.

The Wombats are "Murph" (lead guitar, lead vocals, keyboards), Dan Haggis (drums, backing vocals) and Tord Øverland-Knudsen (bass, backing vocals).
