Sigur Ros has shifted the release date of their documentary film Heima to November 20th. The accompanying Hvarf/Heim CD package will still be released on November 6th, as originally announced.
Heima chronicles a series of free concerts Sigur Rós played in their native Iceland over the course of summer 2006. Combining both the biggest and smallest shows of their career, the entire tour was filmed, and now provides a unique insight into one of the world's most fascinating and inscrutable bands captured live while exploring their natural habitat like never before. The film was directed by Oscar-nominated Dean DeBlois and edited by Nick Fenton. Pitchfork recently called the film "stupidly gorgeous... a stunning record of an extraordinary endeavor: Don't be surprised if you stumble out of the theater with tear-striped cheeks, dreaming of rotten shark and glaciers."
In other news, recent visitors to www.arcadefire.com may have noticed a new link referencing "be oNline B", which leads to a teaser page that reads only "October 6th". Fans of the band will want to keep an eye on that space this weekend.
