Page France Embarks On The Cotton Jones Basket Ride

Born on a ship during the 1984 Baseball World Series between the San Diego Padres & the Detroit Tigers. Sleeps in a Peachtone cabin in the woods of Western Maryland, between a Captain Beefheart poster, and dog named, the loan officer. Has a nasty cough, and eye sight a bit less sharp than when he was 12. Finished a collection of songs : Paranoid Cocoon. Plays those same songs on stage with friends.

The earnest vibrato of Michael Nau's voice earned him a flurry of accolades the moment he placed his initial fingerprint on the music world a few years back. Though the rural Maryland native sat as a relative underdog to capture the ears of the country, Nau turned heads from coast to coast with his unique brand of jangly folk/pop leading Pitchfork to dub him "A true prodigy" and NPR to call "his wonderment in the simplest of things...infectious".

In early 2008 Nau's new face, The Cotton Jones Basket Ride, will see its first full-length release on Quite Scientific Records with Paranoid Cocoon, an album which sees the former Page France front man venturing away from the Free Design tinged hand claps of his previous work and towards the chaotically charming beauty of Harry Nilsson singing along to The Velvet Underground.

In the meantime, an individually handmade, hand-stamped, limited EP Booklet of five songs is available for purchase at all Cotton Jones shows, and via the Quite Scientific website. The booklets are hand made, hand stamped, and include a CD of four songs set to appear on the upcoming record, and one exclusive to the release.

Self-Titled EP Track listing:
1. To Death With You
2. All Along the Year
3. Friends and Such
4. Mary
5. Singer in a Band
6. Miracle Bound

Plans are also in the works for a separate 7" vinyl release to be titled Lovely Day, I Guess. You can check out the live debut of The Cotton Jones Basket Ride as a full band as part of the CMJ Music Marathon on October 19th @ The Cake Shop in NYC (Quite Scientific Records Showcase).
