The Onion (A.V. Club) - The group's defiantly loose new disc once again kicks it independent-style, with a sparkling
new set that augments signature old-school flows and girlish good humor with electro and new-wave flourishes.

Entertainment Weekly A- : Northern State has crafted a legitimately trilling third album. It's an audacious leap forward,
and one that should finally earn them the unimaginable: respect

Spin *** 3 Stars: Energetic political jams such as "Cold War" make it easy to forget that it's been three years since
anyone heard from Le Tigre

Alternative Press *** 3 1/2 Stars: “The former partners in rhyme frequently drop the mics to explore everything from
pointy-shoed new wave to soft flutter electro-rock...the results are unexpected and lethal”

The ladies of Northern State are thrilled that their song "Better Already" was chosen to lead off last week's episode
of 'Grey's Anatomy'. Northern State are huge fans of the show and have been obsessively watching season 2 on DVD in
the back of their van while on tour in Canada with Tegan and Sara. According to Spero, " We are such huge fans of the
show that we refuse to watch the episode featuring our song because we don't want it to give away any plotlines. We just
finished season 2 on Dvd. We now need to get through all of season 3 on our US tour and THEN..and ONLY THEN..will
we watch the episode featuring "Better Already". It was a tough decision but Dr. Potash (aka Hesta Prynn), Dr. Goodmark
(aka Sprout) and I all agreed this was the best course of action given the circumstances."
