Diesel:U:Music 2007 Winners Revealed

2007 International Unsigned Talent Winners:
In Rock/Indie + The Public Vote – The Features from the United States
In Electronic/Dance – Get Shakes from the United Kingdom
In Urban/Hip Hop – Cool Kids from the United States

Along with the individual genre winners, the following awards were given to these music legends:
The Contribution To Music Award - Peter Saville
The 4Music Icon Award - Joy Division

Guests at the ceremony were treated to:
Live sets by CSS, Wiley, and Good Shoes
DJ Sets by The MisShapes, Kissy Sell Out, and Tapedeck

The Diesel:U:Music Awards took place on October 3rd, 2007 at Club Koko in London. The champagne was flowing courtesy of Tattinger and the awards were hosted by Alexa Chung, Alex Zane and Nick Grimshaw. The Diesel:U:Music Awards will be shown on Channel 4 UK on Sunday October 21st at midnight with excerpts from the show being shown on Freshly Squeezed with Alexa Chung the entire week of Monday October 15th.

Once regional Panelists decided what bands would make the short list of International Finalists, this year’s international winners were chosen by an illustrious panel of musicians and producers. The rock/indie category was selected by Motley Crue legend Nikki Sixx, producer extraordinaire Butch Walker and Peter Hook. The electronic category was judged by past winner Mylo, DJ Felix Da Housecat and producer Jagz Kooner. East London grime MC Wiley, renowned producer Howie B, songwriter Devon Harris and RnB queen Kelis judged the urban/hip hop category.
