The San Francisco Chronicle has exclusively debuted the video for “Coil” by the SF-based duo Tidelands at the newspaper’s website SFGate.com.

See the post here: http://blog.sfgate.com/loaded/2012/08/16/tidelands. The video is the second clip produced to promote the sophomoreTidelands album We’ve Got A Map, out now.

“If this video doesn’t remind you of being 15-years-old, I failed,” says Tidelands band member Gabriel Leis of the clip that he conceptualized with videographer Nelsen Brazill.  The video features two teenage girl best friends spending a day roaming throughout the city and captures what Leis describes as “the intensity of the friendship, the smiles and laughter, the adventurous spirits, and that moment right before some sort of innocence is lost.”

The video features many well-known San Francisco locales. “I was insistent we end the day of shooting at Ft. Funston overlooking the Pacific,” says Leis.

Tidelands, comprised of vocalist, guitarist and flugelhorn player Leis and drummer Mie Araki, will be seeing a few cities themselves starting today when the duo launches a string of west coast dates in support of We’ve Got A Map. See below for dates and details.
