Bob Mould is celebrating our recent reissues of the Sugar catalog by performing Copper Blue in its entirety as well as songs from his forthcoming new album Silver Agewith his band - Jon Wurster & Jason Narducy. The Copper Blue / Silver Age tour hits the US beginning September 7 in New York.
Archers of Loaf are wrapping up their tour in support of their recently completed catalog reissue series. Just a few dates left! While Redd Kross are just beginning to play shows in support of their new album Researching the Blues which was just released last week! Divine Fits' debut album A Thing Called Divine Fits is streaming now at NPRand the guys have announced their final in a string of four LA shows in addition to MoogFest and more!
The Music Tapes are plotting out their circus tent tour in support of Mary's Voice, but will visit the Maximum Ames festival on September 22 along with Neutral Milk Hotel bandmate Jeff Mangum. The Mountain Goats tour supporting the new albumTranscendental Youth begins with a very special performance of metal covers on the piano at the Hopscotch Festival on September 7, and then the full band hits the road on October 9. Imperial Teen are playing a handful of shows including a visit to the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn on August 17 and the Treasure Island Festival in October.
The Magnetic Fields have just announced a few shows with writer & "merch girl" Emma Straub opening with a reading from her debut novel Laura Lamont's Life in Pictures.Hospitality will continue their year on the road supporting their self-titled debut with a headlining tour beginning in September. After a string of dates opening for the Dirty Projectors, Wye Oak will also play headlining dates beginning in late September.
Crooked Fingers has announced a new US tour co-headlining with John Vanderslice in support of Breaks in the Armor, his triumphant return to Merge released last fall.Superchunk has scheduled appearances at the Deluna Festival in Pensacola (which will also include Redd Kross & Bob Mould) as well as a visit to Austin in November for theFun Fun Fun Festival (which also includes Bob Mould). Along with the special Mountain Goats show, Lambchop, Versus, Pipe, Shark Quest, The Love Language, and Mac (solo) will play the Hopscotch Festival in Raleigh.
We'll have new dates from Mark Eitzel's Warm Gentle Rain in support of his beautiful new solo album Don't Be a Stranger later this fall. Daphni & Tracey Thorn aren't expected to tour, but as Merge's first truly "EDM" release and our new holiday album respectively, they are certainly worth your attention.
