"Wonderfully tuneful, well crafted and vibrant...one
of the year's finest Americana releases" - Alternative
Press
"Cuff the Duke hit high strides with this one" - FILTER
"Because it features pedal-steel guitar, Toronto's Cuff The Duke has often been tagged as an alt-country band, but the way Dale Murray attacks the instrument would give the average Nashville session player nightmares. His steel playing inhabits a twisted space between industrial noise and ambient space music, adding textures that give Cuff The Duke's arrangements a wide-open, larger-than-life feel" - Magnet Magazine
"Huge pop hooks and harmonies, drenched in plenty of pedal steel, Hammond organ and tightly wound guitar pickin'" - Modern American Weekly

Cuff The Duke have undoubtedly had a busy 2012,
starting off the year with a prestigious JUNO award nomination
in Canada for "Adult Alternative Album of the Year," the
band are excited to announce details of their new album, Union,
which will be released October 23, 2012 (USA) through Paper
Bag Records. As promised, Union is the second
part of a two-part album series that began with the release of Morning
Comes late last year. The two albums relate lyrically and
visually: A number of the songs on the new album act as a response to the songs
from its predecessor - while Union's 'Rise Above' relates
to 'Standing on the Edge' and 'Something For Free' relates
to 'Time Is Right.' Fellow Canadian folk-singer Basia
Bulat guests on album stand-outs 'Side By Side' and 'Stay.'
"On Union, we moved away from our usual-sounding song structures, rock solos and harmonies by adding more sonic textures," says the band's Wayne Petti. "Morning Comes was more acoustic-based, this album is more electric-based. Instead of trying to find the perfect tone, it was more about exploring interesting sounds."
