BLACK COBRA Release First Video From Invernal LP Via Rue Morgue Magazine

Devastating metallic sludge innovators BLACK COBRA have today released their new unique, sinister video for “Crimson Blade,” the first official video to be released from their lauded 2011-released Invernal LP.

Conceived/constructed by the band themselves and director Greg Downing (of bands Glitter Wizard and Buffalo Tooth), BLACK COBRA’s “Crimson Blade” filmed in three days for absolutely no money. The plot portrays the concept of the song, following one man as he devolves to a previous state of humanity and resorts to cannibalism in a post-apocalyptic world. During the filming of the gory visual depiction, actor Landon Bates actually ended up accidentally cutting himself multiple times, with actual wounds fueling some of the bloody scenes.

Stated the members of BLACK COBRA: “The video’s concept was a collaboration between director Greg Downing and ourselves. We were familiar with his work in the bands Glitter Wizard and Buffalo Tooth and he was enthusiastic about working with us as well. In general, it's about isolation, paranoia and desperation. The utter darkness also gives it an overall feel of confusion. We're really stoked on how it came together.”

Watch the gnarly, frozen carnage of “The Crimson Blade” unfold via the horror-fanatics at Rue Morgue Magazine AT THIS LOCATION.

Having recently returned from a strand of worldwide touring in support of their Invernal LP -- where the duo surpassed playing their 600th show since the release of their debut LP Bestial in 2006 -- BLACK COBRA continue to pick up high profile gigs throughout California, and will be performing with their friends in both Saviours and Big Business in the next handful of weeks. And as always, more shows and news will be announced shortly.
