MOTHER'S GREEN Announces Release of New Album 'Swimming In The Sun'

Description: Second Album Front Cover - Logo Bottom Right[1]

Canadian eclectic rock outfit MOTHER’S GREEN recently released their brand new full-length album, Swimming in the Sun. This album comes as a follow-up to the band’s first full-length, self-titled release, which hit stores in Canada in 2008. For Swimming in the Sun, founding member, vocalist and guitarist March Ciaccari tapped drummer Dean Glover, percussionist Greg Noguera, and bassist Mike Simpson. The album was recorded at BWC Studios (The EndMoneen) in Toronto. The album was then mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Music (ConvergeMastodon) in New York.

Shortly after recording, bassist Nick Tipe entered the band to handle bass duties in the place of Mike Simpson. Swimming in the Sun was completed with no label support, and the band continued on to self-finance their new video for ‘Observation for the Day’, cut from the new album.

Track listing:
Swimming in the Sun
Observation for the Day
Catching Existence
A Night in Complete Awe
Conscious of the Free Side
Just Another
The Antidote
A Close Encounter
Checking Point
Tattoos Leave Scars (bonus remix)

Swimming in the Sun is available now in a 180g vinyl/CD combo pack at www.mothersgreen.com. The new album is a sonic journey from start to finish— with warm guitars, pounding, echoing drums, and resonating bass. MOTHER’S GREEN promises to reach a wide fan base; followers of 90’s rock groups like Soundgarden and Foo Fighters and modern-day stoner rock and sludge metal bands like Mastodon, Baroness, and everything between will enjoy Swimming in the Sun.

MOTHER’S GREEN formed as the brainchild of singer/songwriter/guitarist March Giaccari in Ontario in 2008. Shortly after formulating his idea for MOTHER’S GREEN and completing several songs, March wasted no time and hired bassist Brent Kervin and drummer Kevin Correia to help him complete MOTHER’S GREEN’s self-titled debut album, resulting in a raw and infectious collection of catchy grooves. MOTHER’S GREEN’s self-titled album did well for a completely independent release and saw several positive reviews.

MOTHER’S GREEN will be touring to support the new record, performing first on May 19th at the Bug Jar in Rochester, NY, located at 219 Monroe Avenue. Doors open at 8pm and the show starts at 9pm. Entry is just $5 and the show is 21+. The show will also feature openers Velvet Elvis, Babayaga, and Oceans of Insects. For more information on the show, please visit www.bugjar.com.
