February 7th will be a big day for fans of UK rockers Band
of Skulls, as it marks not only the exclusive itunes release date of their highly anticipated
new album Sweet Sour, but also sees the video premiere for their new single of the same name. The video, which features a gang of
'rough-around-the-edges' kids
wreaking havoc in their dreary town, is a perfect
representation of the dirty blues-inspired rock of the track.
The iTunes exclusive release of Sweet Sour will
be released via their own label, Electric Blues Recordings under exclusive license in the
U.S. to Vagrant Records and will include the bonus track "Such A Fool".
The full physical release of the record will follow suit the week after, with a release date
of February 14th. Sweet
Sour will be released with great
anticipation, as Band of Skulls' debut Baby Darling Doll Face Honey was embraced by fans and the
media worldwide, even leading to Entertainment Weekly naming Band of Skulls
"Your Next Favorite Band". If the early reactions to Sweet Sour are any
indication, neither the fans nor the media will be let down.
The band is also gearing up for their upcoming tour with We
Are Augustines, starting March 13th in Austin, TX at Antone's. Band of
Skulls' live show has been a constant highlight at previous festivals, having been
named "Best of SXSW" by Rolling Stone and "Best of Coachella"
by SPIN. With a new record under their belt, this tour is sure not to disappoint their ever-growing
legion of supporters.
