Maynard James Keenan's debut release under the Puscifer moniker, "V is for Vagina," debuted #1 on the Billboard Indie Label chart and at #25 on Billboard's Top 200.
The album, which was banned by some major retailers at the eleventh hour, was released sans record label by Keenan, best known for his work in Tool and A Perfect Circle. Ironically, the release coincided with Tyra Banks' much discussed vagina episode and blogger Carla Thompson's essay "A Vagina by Any Other Name is Not So Sweet."
"Queen B," the lead off track to the album and first single at radio, is enjoying significant modern rock radio airplay and moving up the various modern rock charts. Keenan and comedian Patton Oswalt are currently featured on MySpace TV's "Artist on Artist" feature.
