SMP announces new album, new guitarist, live dates.

Seattle, Wash. -- Seattle industrial-rock act SMP (aka Sounds of Mass Production) has released its fifth original album, "The Treatment," on SMP founder Jason Bazinet's own imprint, Music Ration Entertainment.

Produced by Wade Alin of Christ Analogue, the album features guest appearances by Slave Unit, Doll Factory, Penal Colony and Bounte, among others. Fans can listen to the first track, the vitriolic "Fuck You," on the SMP Web site (http://www.smphq.com). "The Treatment" can be purchased at http://www.cdbaby.com/smp, iTunes and other popular download sites.

In live news, Jason can be seen playing drums this winter with industrial staple Chemlab. Chemlab's "Detonation Days Tour" kicks off on Nov. 16 with support acts U.S.S.A.(ex-Ministry and Jesus Lizard) and Skeleton Key. See the full list of dates below.

SMP will be playing three Northwest dates on the tour. Veteran drummer Charlie Lorme and KMFDM/PIG guitarist Steve White will be joining Jason on stage to throw down the audio warfare.

After the tour, SMP will be working on the follow-up album to "The Treatment" with producer Wade Alin.

In other album news, a remix album of "The Treatment" that is as yet untitled is in the works.

In side project news, expect the new 64K record, "Choke," and the debut record by The Loyal Opposition to be released in 2008. "Choke" is the collaborative effort between Jason and Mike Ostrander, while The Loyal Opposition is Jason and Garrick Antikajian of the industrial-rock duo Doll Factory.
