INTRODUCTIONS TO NEW TECHNOLOGY AND A CAUSE –
AIDING OUR NEIGHBORING WILDFIRE VICTIMS
On Friday, October 26, 2007, multi-media company GUERILLA UNION (producers of Rock the Bells and Paid Dues music festivals and tours) teamed up with SanDisk (global leader in flash memory) for the “SanDisk Sunset Strip Block Party.” The event celebrated the launch of SanDisk’s ‘Wake Up Your Phone” marketing campaign and the international product release of the Micro SDHC and M2 8GB cards.
GUERILLA UNION’S ambitious event for SanDisk was unprecedented in the history of the “World Famous Sunset Strip.” This massive fete took place throughout three of the Sunset Strip’s most legendary nightclubs--The Key Club, The Roxy Theater and the Viper Room--making it the first event of its kind to use all three venues in unison. The evening incorporated private performances by Linkin Park, Common, Z-Trip, The Crystal Method, Cut Chemist and Supernatural.
The “SanDisk Sunset Strip Block Party” was attended by over 150 international entertainment press, celebrities and musicians. The “Wake Up Your Phone” campaign and product launch of the new SDHC and M2 8GB cards were developed to create awareness and educate people about how they can use the memory card slots on their mobile phones to increase movie, video and photo capabilities.
The evening’s celebration took a pause to reflect on the recent devastation and healing of the southern California wildfire victims. Guerilla Union presented a contribution to Music for Relief on behalf of Linkin Park and SanDisk in the amount of $100,000.
“Our partnership with SanDisk represents a new era in this vast digital economy where art and business collide to truly give users what they want – a portal to their favorite music and videos that transmits through the mobile phones they carry every day,” states Chang Weisberg, President of Guerilla Union. “Partnering with SanDisk to introduce this new product was a pleasure. Aiding the relief of our neighboring wildfire victims on the same project was a blessing.” Guerilla Union and SanDisk plan to continue the campaign and further the relationship into 2008.
