The Kooks Announce December US Tour Dates

Fresh out of the studio recording their sophomore album with ‘Inside In / Inside Out’ producer Tony Hoffer (Beck, Air, Belle & Sebastian) in Ray Davies’ legendary Konk Studios in London, The Kooks venture stateside this December to deck the halls.

The Kooks debut album ‘Inside In/ Inside Out’ has sold over two million albums worldwide. In the UK, ‘Inside In / Inside Out’ now gone quadruple platinum, becoming the 5th highest selling album of 2006, as well as the 2nd biggest debut, second only to the Arctic Monkeys. The Kooks won “Best UK Act” at MTV Europe’ Music Awards, were nominated for two Brit Awards (Best Breakthrough Artist and Best Single), and are featured in a boatload of best of 2006 lists (including NME, Q, GQ, The Sun, Daily Telegraph, and The Word).

Over a year after its US release, “Inside In / Inside Out” is buzzing more than ever and is closing in on 100,000 albums sold. Currently, “She Moves in Her Own Way” is Top 10 at Triple-A and was the Most Added at Hot AC last week. Single downloads are over 400,000, and the music video is spinning on MTV, VH1, Fuse, MTVU, and Logo.

Also in the US, The Kooks have performed on The Late Show with David Letterman and Jimmy Kimmel Live. Entertainment Weekly named 'Naïve' one of the Top 10 Singles of 2006, and The Modern Age named 'Inside In / Inside Out' as their #2 favorite album of 2006. The Kooks have also gotten love on MTV News' 'You Hear It First', Yahoo's 'What's Next', USA Today, New York Times, The New Yorker, LA Times, Blender, Spin, Men's Vogue, Conde Nast's Fashion Rocks (both 2006 and 2007 issues), Playboy, Maxim, Flaunt, Nylon, Elle, Teen Vogue, V Man, Alternative Press, Filter, CMJ, Harp, Relix, URB, Paste, Time Out, The Onion, SF Weekly, LA Weekly, AOL, Music.com, Little Radio, Prefix, Pop Matters, Pitchfork and many more.
