CHIODOS U.S. TOUR OFF TO AN EXPLOSIVE START; NEW YORK CITY SHOW SET FOR NOVEMBER 26 AT NOKIA THEATER-TIMES SQUARE;

BAND TO SHOOT VIDEO FOR “LEXINGTON…” THE FIRST SINGLE OFF THEIR TOP FIVE ALBUM ‘BONE PALACE BALLET’

For CHIODOS, it’s all coming together in a major way.

Having entered the Billboard Top 200 Chart at a spectacular #5 with their breakthrough second album BONE PALACE BALLET (Equal Vision Records)--hailed by Alternative Press magazine as “a frighteningly mighty album of exhilarating musicianship and inspired lyrical introspection that plays out like an evening at some glorious experimental-hardcore cabaret”--the cutting-edge MI-based band are proving to be an unstoppable force on the road.

CHIODOS’ fall U.S. tour is off to an explosive start with the group’s fans coming out in droves. The headlining trek--which launched in late September--has averaged a 96% sell-out rate at such venues as the Avalon in Los Angeles (11/1), Emo’s in Austin (10/4), House of Blues in Chicago (10/21), The Showbox in Seattle (10/28) and the Roseland Theatre in Portland (10/28). In addition, the group’s upcoming shows in Philadelphia (Trocadero, 11/25) and Detroit (Clutch Cargo’s, 11/30) have now sold-out.

Anchored on stage by lead singer CRAIG OWENS, the band’s dynamic live show has been hailed by critics and fans alike. Jonah Weiner recently noted in Blender, “When Owens takes the stage, he’s virtuosic. He flails, rooster-struts and raises his fists like a warrior vowing revenge. As he sings about betrayal, obsession and bloodlust, he switches between a wounded, pitch perfect falsetto and a razorblade gargle: the vulnerable psychopath” (December 2007).

BONE PALACE BALLET has now sold in excess of 91,000 copies, with the album’s #5 debut marking the highest entry for the Albany-based indie Equal Vision Records. Writing about the album in his New York Times review, writer Kelefa Sanneh noted that “Craigery Owens, the virtuosic lead singer, could be doing double duty in a horror movie. He alternates between the fearsome roar of a monster and the pleading falsetto of a victim” (9/3/07). In its four-and-a-half-out-of-five star review, Alternative Press hailed the album as “an arresting piece of post-modern musical art…”

With BONE PALACE BALLET, the band--OWENS (vocals), BRADLEY BELL (keyboards), PAT McMANAMAN (guitar), MATT GODDARD (bass), JASON HALE (guitar) and DERRICK FROST (drums)--builds on the success of their critically acclaimed 2005 debut All’s Well That End’s Well which has sold over 187,000 copies. BONE PALACE BALLET also represents an artistic leap forward; the wildly eclectic album’s many standout songs include the first single, “Lexington. (Joey Pea-Pot With a Monkey Face).” “…There’s a newfound orchestral and melodic touch, with livelier piano driven jaunts that nod to Queen--see ‘Lexington…” and stripped down string backed ballads “Intensity In Ten Cities,” noted Jill Menze in her Billboard.com review (9/3/07).

In December, CHIODOS will shoot a video for their first single “Lexington…” in Hollywood with director Josh Graham (Dillinger Escape Plan’s “Unretrofied,” Isis’ “In Fiction,” Saves The Day’s “The End,” Underoath’s “It’s A Dangerous Business…”).

In February, CHIODOS will head to Australia for the Sound Wave Festival where they’ll perform alongside The Offspring, Incubus, Coheed and Cambria, Shadows Fall, Killswitch Engage and As I Lay Dying, among others. See dates below and visit: www.soundwavefestival.com.

CHIODOS are now confirmed to perform the Bamboozle Festival on Saturday, May 3 at Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The group will join Jack’s Mannequin, Mindless Self Indulgence, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and The Starting Line as well as many others. For more info, visit: www.thebamboozle.com.
