LIARS: HOUSECLOUDS VIDEO/SINGLE

Liars release 'Houseclouds' the second single from their critically acclaimed album 'Liars' digitally October 30th and on 7" November 20th.

'Houselouds,' the follow up to the album's first single ‘Plaster Casts Of Everything’, introduces yet another facet to the band whose pioneering transformations album to album are now legendary. “They embody the anthropophagic attitude of tropicalismo;" says Devendra Banhart in a recent New York Times article. "constantly changing and taking from the cosmos, yet always remaining rooted in themselves… Like being engulfed in a thunderous heart of sound and altruistic experimentalism.” According to Pitchfork, 'Houseclouds' "sounds like what might have resulted had the Happy Mondays set sail for Bowie's Berlin… It's these laconic, menacing, and almost pretty moments that leaven 'Liars"

The 'Houseclouds' digital release features brand new track, ‘Red Dirt’, plus a remix of ‘Clear Island’ by pre-teen Mute UK labelmates Tiny Masters Of Today and an exclusive new track "Dear God." The 7” features the exclusive new track ‘Dear God’. Check out the "Houseclouds" video (directed by Sonny Gerasimowicz) here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzZVvM8Dyzs

Liars, who recently completed a US tour opening for Interpol, return to the UK to play ATP’s First Annual Hallowe’en party, Release The Bats, at The Forum on November 2nd on an incredible bill that includes Deerhoof, Deerhunter, Black Lips and Fuck Buttons. After a brief UK and European tour, the band will return to the US for a headline tour (dates TBA).

New York Times, describing the Madison Square Gardens show with Interpol, said “Liars … work the Garden stage like rock stars... with the lead singer, Angus Andrew, strutting and gesticulating in a white suit and a big, relentless beat, Liars sounded at home as arena-rock.”

Liars appear on the forthcoming compilations, ‘Worried Noodles’ and Guillemots’ ‘Back To Mine’. ‘Worried Noodles’ features Franz Ferdinand, Deerhoof, Trans Am and David Byrne amongst others and is out on Tomlab this autumn. Each track uses lyrics from David Shrigley’s Worried Noodles songbook (2005), more information from www.davidshrigley.com.

Liars recently released a mini picture disc/DVD on Heartfast records featuring additional new material including a cover of the Nirvana song 'Territorial Pissings' The band are also featured on the upcoming limited edition Visionaire SOUND project, which consists of five 12-inch picture discs containing audio content from artists such as David Byrne, Thurston Moore & Kim Gordon, Cat Power, Yoko Ono and Mute labelmates The Knife.
