PELICAN TOUR THE WORLD, GET PROPS FROM ROB HALFORD AND TONS OF RADIO AIRPLAY

ON TOUR NOW IN NORTH AMERICA, TOURING JAPAN AND AUSTRALIA THIS FALL

NEW ALBUM CITY OF ECHOES CHARTING IN TOP 10 AT CMJ LOUD ROCK, TOP 100 AT CMJ TOP 200

NEW PELICAN VINYL RELEASES IN SEPTEMBER ON HYDRAHEAD W/ UNRELEASED MATERIAL

Currently in the midst of their North American headlining tour in support of their new album City Of Echoes, out now on Hydra Head Industries, Pelican have been busy racking up acclaim left and right from fans, metal and college radio, and a surprising nod from Rob Halford of Judas Priest.

Receiving an overwhelming amount of airplay on metal and non-metal college radio, City Of Echoes has charted at Top 10 for CMJ Loud Rock, Top 20 for FMQB Metal Detector, and Top 100 for CMJ 200. The group also received a well deserved and suprising comment from Rob Halford of Judas Priest during a recent interview with Tour Bus Radio. Halford mentioned the band as one of his recent favorites, citing their "very articulate" qualities, adding that "You just get lost in their music." On tour in North America throughout August, Pelican will be taking on Japan and Australia this fall. Their dates in Japan will pair Pelican's intricate metal onslaught with Japanese legends envy, and KTL (Stephen O'Malley from SUNN O))). The Stockholm Syndrome will be joining Pelican on their Australian tour in October.

If all this wasn't enough, Hydra Head will be releasing two vinyl Pelican releases in September. City Of Echoes will finally see the light of day as a deluxe style LP. A 10" of previously unreleased material will also be released, including the tracks "Pink Mammoth" (an updated version of "Mammoth" off their first EP) and "End Of Seasons (Prefuse 73 remix)". The audio from the 10" will also be included on a bonus CD from Pelican's upcoming DVD release, "After the Ceiling Cracked".
