LA Pop Art News

Los Angeles Pop Art has entered into a licensing agreement with Paramount Pictures to create new posters for the 1972 classic film, The Godfather. LA Pop Art will create posters out of the entire script from the Oscar-winning film using "micrography," a technique which uses tiny words to create an image. This unique combination of script and image celebrates one of the greatest and most quotable films of all time, a perfect combination for die-hard lovers of the film.

The highest grossing film of its time, The Godfather is one of the great treasures of cinema. Directed by Francis Ford Coppola and starring Marlon Brando and a then unknown Al Pacino in the title roles, the film has been consistently ranked as one of the best films ever made by critics and media.

A true pop culture icon, the film has had an immeasurable effect on popular culture ranging from the films of Martin Scorsese to The Sopranos. It is also one of the most quoted films in history which makes it a perfect choice for LA Pop Art. "I'm going to make him an offer he can't refuse," still stands as one of the most memorable lines if not THE most memorable line ever spoken in a film.

The poster, which sizes out at 24 x 30 inches, is completely Handwritten and was created using the entire script, with all words completely legible. One can easily identify favorite lines from the film. The poster is priced at $13.99, and can be found exclusively at www.lapopart.com

From Scarface to to Reservoir Dogs, from Kiss to The Killers, from symbols of piece to images we will never forget, LA Pop Art is the exclusive home to illustrious original posters that mix the visual images of popular icons with the language that made them famous creating unique works of art.

About LA Pop Art:

Los Angeles Pop Art creates pop art images using the ancient technique of "micrography," an art form that dates back millennia to the Egyptians, Jews, and Muslims. Micrography is the art of writing texts in very small letters to form the illusion of an image. Entire texts, such as a movie script or book, are used to form posters and other artwork. LA Pop Art is the premier popular art micrographic imaging firm with a portfolio of film, music, and popular literature artwork. Their full gallery of images is available at http://www.lapopart.com/.
