The Fleshtones Wheel of Talent erupts with raw energy proving that they haven't slowed down a bit since the 70's. They are currently gearing up to take that energy to Spain and will jump into their US dates beginning at The Grand Victory in Brooklyn, NY on 2/27. The US tour will include a stop atSXSW in Austin TX for the RajiWorld Showcase and the BYOC Day Party (Dates listed below).
The Fleshtones' legendarily manic, sweat-soaked performances have gained them a feverishly dedicated fanbase who have followed the band over their nearly 40 years of making music. One of the first bands to play CBGB's, these stalwarts of New York's music scene have persevered without leaving the underground.
The prolific history of The Fleshtones includes well over 20 releases. They were the first band booked at Irving Plaza and Maxwell's, opened for Chuck Berry and James Brown, shared a bass player with Television, and worked with other legendary musicians like Peter Buck of R.E.M. and producer/engineer Steve Albini (Nirvana, Pixies, The Stooges).
Watch their live performance on Urgh! A Music War which featured them alongside artists Devo,The Cramps, Dead Kennedys, Gary Numan, and The Police (http://bit.ly/ab1n8).
