Avi Fox-Rosen Announces New Album "Where Is My Parade?" Out March 5th + New York Record Release Show @ The Cake Shop!

Avi Fox-Rosen
Announces New Album "Where Is My Parade?" + New York Record Release Show March 5th!

Avi Fox-Rosen is an unapologetically genre defying singer songwriter. “Informed equally by power pop, roots rock and show tunes” according to Time Out New York. He has just completed his 12-month, 12-EP project for 2013 which was featured FIRST in New York Music Daily’s Best Recordings of the year. He remixed and mastered the 13 best songs of the last year for Where Is My Parade, the full length album he is releasing March 5th, 2014.

Reminiscent of other hilarious and unique artists, bands and musicians (see also Momus, Ben Folds, They Might Be Giants, Spinal Tap, Gogol Bordello), Fox-Rosen may seem a bit out there to some, and that's just the way he likes it.

Avi makes music with a sardonic sense of humor, dense and dark lyrics, and enchantingly twisted melodies. Described by Lucid Culture as "Donald Fagen's equally gifted more ill-at-ease bastard stepchild," New York Music Daily has heralded Avi's album-a-month project as "one of the most ambitious jobs anyone in the rock world has taken on lately" and says Avi’s releases have “produced some of the year’s best music.”

In the fall of 2012, Avi Fox-Rosen made a naïve commitment to himself to release a short album for each month of 2013. After 60+ fully produced songs, 20+ guest musicians, 12 EPs and 12 months later, Avi finished the job.

After the year of nonstop recording and producing, Avi chose the best songs of the bunch, remixed and mastered them. March 5th, 2014, Avi is poised to independently release his eponymous debut, titled Where Is My Parade? The title track is a circus rock anthem to narcissism. Followed up with "Baby," where gorgeous vocal harmonies pine for returning to the womb. "Ugly Duckling" gives the finger to adversity, "College" paints a picture that young people are only too familiar with leaving college for a workplace barren of opportunity. "Love is a Word" celebrates what we all know too well, and "Everybody Dies" doesn’t let anyone get too comfortable. Fox-Rosen’s lush production fully realizes each musical universe he references, jumping from circus to soul to rock to swing.

In addition to new music and upcoming pre-order links for the new album, Avi Fox-Rosen will be premiering the video for the album's title track, "Where Is My Parade?," in the weeks to follow (more information coming soon).
