Habibi Shares Track From New Album, Out Today On Burger Records

HABIBI'S NEW SELF-TITLED ALBUM OUT TODAY ON BURGER RECORDS

The new self-titled album from New York City-based all-female four piece Habibi, comprised of Erin Campbell, Rahill Jamalifard, Lenny Lynch and Karen Vasquez, is out today on Burger Records! This afternoon, The A.V. Club premiered the groovy, infectious "I Got The Moves," which encapsulates Habibi's "Girls from the Garage" feel. The new album is chock full of sweet harmonies that creep into your head and stay echoing there long after the first spin. There's a subtle Middle Eastern influence on the new record with some songs sung in Jamalifard's native language, Farsi.  The music manages to make you shimmy and shake like a Motown hit but is still tinged with dissonant melodies that generate a spooky, ethereal sound. The term, "Habibi" translates to "my love" in Arabic and you are sure to love this band as if they were your own mom, grandma, dog or best friend.
