THE BELLICOSE MINDS: Seminal Release From Portland Goth/Punks Reissued Via A389
Noisey Streaming Entire LP

As A389 Recordings prepares for the official remastered reissue of The Buzz Or Howl Sessions -- the out-of-print 2009-released recordings from Portland, Oregon's THE BELLICOSE MINDS -- Noisey is now streaming the record.
THE BELLICOSE MINDS likes to keep the music dark, and sinister, always throwing cynical thought to the foreground, flowing with a dark, early-'80s Gothic rock edge. Having exposed the rock underworld to an array of independent releases since their incarnation in 2008, The Buzz Or Howl Sessions is considered to be some of BELLICOSE MINDS' core, seminal material by their devout, underworld fanbase. Self-citing influences from The Chameleons, The Sound, Red Lorry Yellow Lorry and Danse Society, and of course the rain the Northwest continually brings, the energy and purposefully dated tone of the album bears familial roots to TSOL, Agent Orange and some of the darker West Coast punk/hardcore acts of the mid-late '80s, and finds them on a regenerative plateau with contemporary acts like Beastmilk and Alaric. Initially self-released only as a five hundred-copy run on dubbed cassettes, A389 Recordings will officially re-release the long out-of-print The Buzz Or Howl Sessions for the first time ever on vinyl on February 7th, in both black and clear color schemes. The initial masters of the record have been completely remastered at Audiosiege, and the artwork and layout feature a full redesign.
THE BELLICOSE MINDS have a plethora of new material written and their next full-length -- the follow-up to 2013's The Spine LP -- is in the works and will see release through A389 later in 2014. Having toured and performed at key underground punk festivals in North America in the past, new live actions for the band will be choreographed with the release of their new album. Stay tuned for more updates in the coming months.
