Eden Fine Day is a singer, songwriter and guitar player from the Sweetgrass First Nation in Saskatchewan. Fine Day was raised in Vancouver, BC and spent over 10 years in Santa Cruz, California, where she first started writing and performing with her first band (later, Fine Day returned to Vancouver to start Vancougar, a beloved all-girl band).
Since 2012, Fine Day has spent more than a year working with producer Jesse Gander (Japandroids) in his studio at the Hive Creative Labs in Burnaby, BC. to create her solo debut, Things Get Better.
As a third generation survivor of the Indian Residential School legacy (read about that here), Fine Day brings a unique and important voice to modern Canadian pop, makes a soaring contribution to Canadian identity as a whole, and shares a perspective not widely viewed by those outside of Canada.
“Vocalist and guitarist Eden Fine Day is a promising talent on both counts; her
singing carries considerable melodic and emotional weight, and if her
fretwork isn’t flashy, it’s strong and fills the spaces with just the right balance
of noise and tunefulness.” – Mark Deming, All Music Guide
“…singer Eden Fine Day’s petulant, cracking vocals make every sugary hook
feel like it might turn into a rock tantrum.” –www.chartattack.com
