Bands Announce Hometown RSD In-Store Performances in
Grand Rapids and Philadelphia!
"...Creepoid is something altogether novel. The young, co-ed Philadelphia quartet knows full well how to crank up the distortion--but it does so in service of a dreamy, drifting, wistful indie-rock. That said, Creepoid's debut full-length, Horse Heaven, isn't some polished piece of car-commercial fodder; just raw and snaky enough to feel eerily unhinged, the disc simmers like vat of molasses as the vocals of guitarist Sean Miller and bassist Anna Troxell build to a sweet, black oblivion." - The AV Club
Shores quietly released their sophomore album this Fall, fitting for a band self described as bummercore. Their brand of sleepy slowcore thrives from well constructed crescendos where volume reigns supreme. Dynamics are radiant throughout the record as everything crawls forward in a Codeine influenced haze. - Exploding in Sound
Featuring two of No Idea's heroic and cult-celebrated "slowcore" acts, the Creepoid / Shores split EP follows the newly reissued "Horse Heaven" LP from Philadelphia's Creepoid, and serves as a preface to the upcoming "Leavening" LP from Grand Rapids, MI's Shores (out this Summer, also on No Idea). In support of the new release, both bands will be taking part in in-store performances at their local record stores on April 21st, with Shores performing at Vertigo Music in Grand Rapids, and Creepoid performing at Siren Records in the Philadelphia suburb of Doylestown, PA.
Creepoid has recently returned from a series of weekend live performances around the East Coast, including appearances at this year's Macrock Festival in Harrisonburg, Virginia and the Liberty Fest in Philadelphia, where the band performed alongside the likes of Bardo Pond, Psychic Ills, Purling Hiss and more. In addition, Shores are announcing a series of April dates throughout the Midwest with friends Pygmy Lush kicking off this weekend (full itinerary below).
