THE WOMBATS RETURN TO U.S. THIS SPRING TO TOUR IN SUPPORT OF THEIR NEW SINGLE "JUMP INTO THE FOG"

Liverpool's The Wombats will return to the U.S. this spring for a headlining tour in support of their new single "Jump into the Fog" off their highly-acclaimed album This Modern Glitch(Bright Antenna/ILG). Kicking off April 21st, the 14-stop run will take the band across the country with stops in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, and more. Pre-sale tickets will be available from March 6 here . Tickets go on sale to the general public on March 9 along with a VIP option that includes a meet & greet, access to attend soundcheck, preferential re-entry for the show and an exclusive poster. Visit thewombats.brightantenna.com for more information.

"Jump into the Fog" has been one of the band's biggest airplay records in the UK and Australia, marking The Wombats sixth Top 40 single to date. The single is on track to have similar success in the U.S., sitting comfortably in the Top 10 at Sirius XM's "Alt Nation" for the past 4 weeks and counting. The video, which you can watch (here) has over 2 million hits on Youtube.

The Wombats' sophomore album This Modern Glitch is the most successful outing from the Liverpool trio to date, debuting at #3 in the U.K. and # 2 in Australia, and receiving worldwide praise. Entertainment Weekly applauds their "bright, buzzy indie pop concoctions that have made audiences on both sides of the Atlantic shake and swoon," while SPIN declares them"Echo & The Bunnymen for the internet age." Similarly, The Sunday Times proclaims This Modern Glitch "a ten-song masterclass in spiky, lyrically-vivid, synth-coloured pop...nothing can detract (or distract) from this album's infectiousness."

The Wombats made their U.S. television last year on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, performing their Top 20 UK single, "Tokyo (Vampires and Wolves)." The track was a BBC Radio 1 "Single of the Week"and has already gone gold in the U.K. and Australia, with its witty, tongue-in-cheek, rock stars-on-rampage  video now at over 3.3 million YouTube plays.

Recorded at NRG Recording Studios in Los Angeles, This Modern Glitch was produced by Rich Costey (Muse, Franz Ferdinand, Bloc Party) and Eric Valentine (Queens of the Stone Age, Lostprophets), with additional production prowess contributed by super-producers Jacknife Lee (U2, Snow Patrol, R.E.M.) and Butch Walker (Fall Out Boy, The Donnas, Weezer). The 10-song set retains the immediacy and hook-filled sensibility of their stunning UK platinum-selling debut, 2007's The Wombats proudly present ... Guide To Love, Loss And Desperation, while introducing aggressive dance elements and a heavier, wryer lyrical bent to their infectious alt-pop.

The Wombats are "Murph" (lead guitar, lead vocals, keyboards), Dan Haggis (drums, backing vocals) and Tord Øverland-Knudsen (bass, backing vocals).
