Guards Debut Video for "Feels Like That"

New York City based Guards, a.k.a Richie Follin, has debuted the video for Feels Like That, the B-Side from his recent 7" for Do It Again released on White Iris Records. The video, directed by Andrew Simkiss and shot in one night in NYC's Chinatown, finds Dave Rankin playing a rickety homeless Gene Kelly figure surrounded by similarly grungy back-up dancers.

Guards was formed in NYC upon Follin's return from a European tour with his former band Willowz to a recording studio, which contained little more than a broken electric 12-string guitar and an omnichord. He wrote and recorded several songs with the help of his friends Caroline Polachek (of Chairlift), James Richardson (of MGMT), Loren Shane Humphrey (of Willowz) and his sister Madeline Follin (of Cults). Unbeknownst to Follin, his cohorts began spreading the word about the tracks he was creating via twitter.
Upon learning that they were doing so, Follin decided to release the songs for free.

Feel Like That is a rollicking indie pop banger that perfectly soundtracks Rankin's soft-shoe dance routine in the video. You can grab the record up from White Iris' webstore, and if you're in Austin this week you'll have plenty of opportunities to check the band out as they have seven performances scheduled.  A full listing
