Executive producer ILLANGELO, known best
for his work with Canadian R&B artist The Weeknd launches
his newest collaboration with TALWST - a soulful and expansive
seven-track masterpiece titled "Alien Tentacle Sex" that
gives a nod to 90's hip-hop and a Brian Eno style ambience, set for release April
24, 2012 in the U.S.
Aligned with the refreshing new cut of r&b
trickling into the mainstream by our northern neighbors, TALWST (pronounced
"tall waist") weaves together classic instrumentation with dreamy
layers of slow-burning seduction. "Alien Tentacle Sex" boasts
a tracklisting that offers a luxe blend of complex arrangements and elements of
tribal African rhythms layered beneath sinister synths and debauched lyricism.
Inspired by bridging together the foreign and familiar, the album laments the
rawness of post-midnight romance - track "I'd Die" tells
a brazen tale of lustful desperation, with searing atmospheric blends and
rattling rhythm samples, while the destitute ballad "No
Stones" exposes the emotional underbelly that threads together
the album's core concept in a signature xo style. In celebration of his forthcoming release, TALWST releases
a brand new video for "Peace Tonight" - a
deep and desolate rhythmic landscape ideal for late-night listening (watch
above).
