More about Check Yo' Ponytail:
In the tradition of CYP Tour and CYP2, the tour will a diverse audience each night. CYP2 has already featured many emerging artists such as Big Freedia, Das Racist, Oh Land, Light Asylum and The Drums; with more established acts like Andrew W.K., Skrillex, Boys Noize, Blonde Redhead, Wavves, and Metronomy as well. CYP2 even had the honor of hosting The Rolling Stones in 2012 at Echoplex, in their first club appearance in over 18 years. Outside of LA, CYP2 has taken over cities all over the country with curated stages at Electric Forest and Fun Fun Fun Fest to a crazy SUPER PARTY at SXSW.
In 2006, Franki Chan began a Tuesday weekly called Check Yo’ Ponytail. The humble, open genre party quickly became an important part of the Los Angeles music scene with its diverse approach to selecting and curating some of the most eclectic, DIY talent from around the world. Innovative artists were changing the industry with new ideas and impressive performances, but most of them lacked a forum to present their talents. Check Yo Ponytail  filled that void, presenting many of these performers to audiences for the first time while creating some of the most memorable high energy parties Los Angeles has ever scene.
