CORROSION OF CONFORMITY: North Carolina Crossover Icons Premiere New Tune Via Loudwire; IX Release Day Looms

With the official unveiling of CORROSION OF CONFORMITY's IX full-length now less than three weeks away, mammoth music portal, Loudwire, hurls forth an exclusive premiere of sixth rager, "On Your Way."

Captured by the band alongside long-time friend and colleague John Custer, writing for IX commenced in the early months of 2013 with demoing and recording starting by Summer's end. Completed in January, IX clocks in at nearly forty-five minutes. Sludge, doom, punk... it's all in the grooves that fans have come to expect from CORROSION OF CONFORMITY. Boasts Decibel Magazine in a recent 8/10 review of the offering, "COC stick to the recipe that served them well on both 2012's self-titled reboot and the follow-up EP, Megalodon: A little hardcore, a little crossover, a whole lotta Southern rock and (especially) doom metal, all stirred, shuffled, layered and frosted in ways that make guessing their next move impossible. But the band's strategies are more expansive this time out, their tricks more finely woven into the fabric of each song.

Bedecked in soul, grit and some of guitarist Woodroe Weatherman's most ferocious lead work yet, "On Your Way," much like IX as a whole, finds CORROSION OF CONFORMITY sonically and conceptually at their most dexterous. Notes Loudwire of the track "'On Your Way' is a classic groove-based COC track, delivering a big Southern crunch thanks to guitarist Woody Weatherman. You can hear the influence of Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi in 'On Your Way,' as Weatherman injects strong fills into his verses while blazing the strings for a dirty solo during the bridge."

Quiet for nearly five years following the release of 2005's In The Arms Of GodCORROSION OF CONFORMITY regrouped in 2010. Since then, the band's relentless commitment to the stage, both stateside and abroad, has unquestionably contributed to their chops in the studio. CORROSION OF CONFORMITY released their self-titled full-length (and follow-up to In The Arms Of God) via Candlelight to high praise late February 2012. The album debuted on Billboard's Top 200 Chart at position 157 and impacted CMJ's Loud Rock chart at position 8 on its debut week before working its way up to position 1. It remained on the magazine's popular radio chart Top 10 for eight consecutive weeks. The label reissued the band's Eye For An Eye (including previously unavailable EP Six Song With Mike Singing) early November 2012. Blabbermouth called it "one of the hallmarks of street 'core.'" It was followed by the free release of Scion A/V's Megalodon EP.

IX will be released via Candlelight Records on June 24th, 2014. For preorders, point your browser HERE or HERE. For digital orders, point your browser HERE.
