LA-based Australian electronic pop duo Bag Raiders (Chris Stracey and Jack Glass) are hard at work crafting album #2, the follow-up to 2010’s self-titled Bag Raiders, which spawned the pop hits ‘Shooting Stars’, ‘Way Back Home’, and ‘Sunlight’. However, they continue to make deeply satisfying club music in tandem, and the immediacy and excitement of two recently recorded lethal tracks has prompted a standalone EP, breaking their release drought of almost three years.
The EP will feature two new original tracks – ‘Nairobi’ and ‘Savannah’ – and each will come paired with a remix. The package will be available digitally in the United States on July 7 via Modular Recordings.
The track premiered yesterday via SPIN. Today, Bag Raiders are pleased to share the lead track, ‘Nairobi’.
"With marimba melodies that soar atop nimble conga rhythms, cowbell, and a funky, relentless guitar riff, the track brings much-needed personality to the tech-house palette. While fans should expect a more embellished strain of radio-ready electronic pop from their forthcoming release, 'Naiorobi', and its club-ready follow-up 'Savannah', are equally powerful servings of wordly modern disco." - SPIN
Without spoiling the imminent arrival of album material, the Nairobi / Savannah EP circles back to the dynamic club tracks that first put Bag Raiders on the map.
Stay tuned for remixes coming from London DJ and producer Nat Self aka Zombie Disco Squad, and the Melbourne-basedRoland Tings.
