"...it makes me want to cock my ear closer to the ground and listen harder" - Pitchfork
California native Morgan Delt recently announced his self-titled debut album, out January 28th on Trouble In Mind, and shared the excellent track, "Beneath The Black And Purple." It's the follow up to the ultra limited 6-song cassette, "Psychic Death Hole," Morgan released earlier this year. Today, he shares another standout, "Obstacle Eyes," from his forthcoming debut. On the new album, Morgan blasts apart 40 years of pop-pysch, from Curt Boettcher to West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band and from The Byrds to Love. It's all in there, obsessively studied, mastered, and then mutated like a Frankenstein version of The Flaming Lips and Thee Oh Sees. Morgan stitches everything together in a way that is both familiar and refreshingly new. Each track on his debut worms its way into your brain and takes hold, buzzing with a modern current. If the winter weather's got you down, bring some sun into your life. Morgan Delt will take you on a journey to the distant corners of your mind.
