Matthew Hegarty is the creative force behind Matthew and the Atlas. After releasing two EPs on Communion Records (the label’s first ever releases back in 2011) and a subsequent year of touring in Europe and the U.S., Hegarty retreated home to mull over the songs developing in his head. In the summer of 2013, he went into the studio to hone the direction of his sound—the result rediscovers Hegarty’s unique voice, albeit this time within a more percussive, non-acoustic soundscape.
Matthew and the Atlas will embark on an intimate tour throughout January and February in the U.K. Further stateside tour dates to be announced soon.
