(January 25, 2007, New York, NY) - In addition to releasing their well-received self-titled full-length debut from Capitol Records in 2006, Newport Beach, California-based rock band Saosin have toured relentlessly on the Warped, Taste of Chaos and Projekt Revolution tours and with artists as diverse and successful as Linkin Park, Avenged Sevenfold, AFI, My Chemical Romance, 30 Seconds To Mars and Taking Back Sunday. Two years on the road has turned Saosin from a musically proficient band into a visually dynamic, fist-tight ensemble capable of winning over fans of multiple genres with their rapturous, powerful songcraft. On March 11, music lovers will be able to experience the sights and sounds of Saosin live when the band releases it’s first DVD and CD package, Come Close.
"We’ve been on the road continuously since the release of our record and our fans have been there every step of the way. This DVD was made as a way for Saosin to give something back to them," said singer Cove Reber.
The DVD features 15 tracks recorded in hi-definition on November 3 at Philadelphia’s The Theater of Living Arts. Highlights include a rousing performance of "Voices," the emotional "Bury Your Head" and the heart-aching yet equally uplifting "You’re Not Alone," which Saosin dedicated to U.S. Troops in Iraq on Veterans Day. The band sent out a video message with the song to the soldiers through their MySpace and email list, encouraging them to put together their own Fliptrack video that expressed messages of hope, love and support for loved ones serving abroad. To date, the video posted on fliptrack.com has received almost 1.5 million page views (http://www.fliptrack.com/watch/xP2MRCIJud).
In addition to concert footage, the DVD includes the music videos for "Voices" and "You’re Not Alone," video intros for each and "AOL Music Sessions Under Cover – Time After Time."
The audio CD on Come Close features five songs from the Philadelphia concert -- "It's Far Better To Learn," "It’s So Simple," "Voices," "You’re Not Alone" and "I Never Wanted To" – along with the bonus tracks; piano versions of "3rd Measurement in C" and "You’re Not Alone" and the acoustic song "Mookies Last Christmas."
Come Close is an extremely personal project and a true testament of what Saosin have proved themselves capable of since before releasing their self-titled debut, from the audio and video production, to the mixing and the artwork, to the composition of an original score heard on "You’re Not Alone," the entire band played an intricate part in the execution of the DVD/CD combo, proving that they are a band capable of standing on their own feet.
As a gesture to their fans, Saosin launched the "Come Close to Saosin" Contest in early January, in which the band’s fans could have their name included in the end credits of the CD and DVD. To enter the contest, which was launched with the mobile marketing company, Mozes, fans text-message SAOSINDVD to 66937 and joined Saosin’s Mob (mobile list) by entering their first and last name to be included in the DVD credits. The contest runs through January 25 and Saosin hope to include as many fans in the credits as space permits.
Saosin are currently on tour with Armor For Sleep and Meriweather. Dates through February 8 also feature The Bled; Dates after February 9 include Fear Before the March of Flames.
Saosin is comprised of Cove Reber (vocals), Chris Sorenson (bass), Alex Rodriguez (drums), Justin Shekoski (guitar) and Beau Burchell (guitar).
