A Billion Balconies Facing the Sun was recorded with Ethan Dussault (Cave-In, Lot 6) and Brian Virtue (Audioslave, Deftones, Jane’s Addiction).

The members of this NYC band have a long history of making music in other bands before forming God Fires Man in the summer of 2006. Having been wined and dined by major labels with empty promises and failed commitments, they have seen all corners of an ever-changing industry. They sampled the delights and downfalls but have always persevered, driven by the music they create.

These industry experiences are channeled into God Fires Man lyrics with songs like “Killer” (“They lie to you as easy as they breathe”) “The Shrug” (“You'll never change what this means to me”) and “Dark” which is a response to the current state of American social consciousness ("I want everyone to stop pretending everyone is happy, everything's ok"). These songs are a rounded mix of influences from epic soundscapes to volatile guitar rock with a nod to their shoe-gazer heroes.
After forming, God Fires Man promptly recorded and released an online-only 5 track EP to great success in the UK, followed by a UK tour in January 2007. Shortly after came a record deal stateside through In De Goot Recordings and with Xtra Mile Recordings in the UK.

God Fires Man will released an UK-only “Dark” EP on December 10, 2007 featuring the single plus 3 b-sides: “Redefine,” “Bombs,” and “Still.”
