Gainesville, Florida five-piece Sister Hazel is scheduled to perform at the 30th annual Budweiser Shootout on February 9th at the historic Daytona International Speedway. Platinum-selling band Sister Hazel just kicked off 2008 on the high seas when they hosted Rock Boat VIII -- a five-day festival at sea with port stops in Jamaica and Grand Cayman. The Rock Boat was co-founded by Sister Hazel and Sixthman. The band kept the holidays jolly recently with their first ever 12 Days of Christmas tour in support of their holiday release, “Santa’s Playlist.” In eight of the cities, the band was joined onstage by local high school choirs and orchestras for what will become an annual tradition. The band plans to continue touring heavily in 2008 leading up to and following the release of a new unplugged album due out in the summer. Fans of the band will also be able to get up close and personal with them at the second annual “Hazelnut Hang” to be held in South Carolina in May.
Sister Hazel is: Ken Block (vocals, acoustic guitar), Drew Copeland (vocals, rhythm guitar), Ryan Newell (lead guitar), Jett Beres (bass), Mark Trojanowski (drums).
