NEW MADRID LIVE ON AUDIOTREE
TODAY AT 2 PM CST
|
"While New Madrid don't sound much like R.E.M. or Pylon, they do draw from the
same elemental sources as the Classic City legends, fashioning jangly, 80s indie with the
rhythms of post-punk into something that was concisely called "college rock"
at one point." - Pitchfork
"One of the still-young year's most out-of-the-blue delights, and infused with enough staying power to potentially wind up on best-of lists come 2014's close." - Blurt
LISTEN TO MANNERS @ PITCHFORK OR SOUNDCLOUD
I wanted to invite you to check out Southern indie rockers New Madrid live on Audiotree today at 2 pm CST. These guys are killer live and combine reverb-drenched vocal harmonies, floating melodies and effects-laden guitars with a pulsing groove resulting in a sound that has earned comparisons to My Morning Jacket, Built to Spill andTelevision.
New Madrid are an exciting young band from Athens, GA who who are currently on tour in support of their sophomore LP, Sunswmmer, which was produced by former Sugar bassist David Barbe, who is well known for his work with Deerhunter and Drive-By Truckers.
The band will play at Chicago's Beat Kitchen tonight and a full list of the remaining tour dates, including shows in NYC, Brooklyn, Philadelphia and Boston, is below.
